Can anyone confirm this signal on 19172MHz? At around 12E I get what appears to be a wide band 1.11kHz FM modulated signal. It's circular polarised (on a linear feed). The only things at around that position are Blagovest 4 and Sicral 1B (11.8E). @hvdh list shows Sicral as only having band C.

I can see it on my 1.2 Gibby, it's pulsating on the Promax and i can't get a fix on it's polarity properly - i've swept through L/R/H/V with the motorised skew and i can't detect a definite indication of the pol. I'll just run it through CS

Thanks, John. At least it proves it's not local.
What you see depends on how you look at it - it seems more like 2 tones separated by about 1055Hz, see the IF plot below (the furryness is due to the RX phase noise):

Yep, interesting signal plots G - i can only go down to a 10 MHz span minimum on the Promax so misses a bit of detail.
This signal has been here for quite a while Graham as well

Revisiting: The early plot in the first post shows the effect of mixing 2 signals as a linear feed was used at the time. There are beacons on about 19.1721GHz which are separated by about 1.5kHz. They are at the lower edge of the downlink band which is 19.172-19.792GHz. The main beams are probably directed at the Russian Arctic so not much chance of seeing anything from here. There is also a beam in the range 17.710-18.004GHz (credit: @hvdh) I guess that the beacons are on omni antennas. Blagovest 1 at 45E has similar beacons but the LH & RH carriers are swapped in frequency. The plots below show LH & RHCP using a Gilat AN8024 on a 1.2m dish.
