Here we go, my first satellite scan result in the world of Ka-Band.

I used a Technomate TM-5402 (M3) receiver which locked most of the frequencies on 16.0 East but missed a few. I assume it missed some due to the very close frequency values with low SR being beyond the capabilities of the TM-5402 tuner?

Picture of the scan table result attached below.

That Dave, is actually a very good catch total - was that still using the 1.5 Precision combination ?.
I'll just do a quick scan on my 1.2 Gibby up here in North Notts before the winds get up any more - already getting a bit strong.

... Done the 16°E scan - using Inverto Ku/ka lnbf , 1.2 Gibby, 6903 PC card, CS .
The lnbf was jumping around in the moderate winds so had an impact on the scan performance results a bit.
Ka lnb / lnbf's don't like it up 'em Mr Mainwaring when they get agitated by the winds lol.

@John

Yes, it was using the Gilat (D) LNB on the feed assembly with the Precision 1.5m dish. I will probably have a scan with EBS Pro or CrazyScan to see if either of them can resolve some of the frequencies missed by the TM-5402 (M3).

I notice from your above scan with CrazyScan it registered but did not not lock 21577H, SR3674. The TM-5402 (M3) scanned the parameters in on a blind scan but failed to produe a picture on the channels from it and lost the lock. It was only by leaving the receiver on the frequency for 5 minutes that it re-established a lock with pictures.

This Ka malarky aint easy, particularly with these frequencies that are so close together with very low symbol rate. I have the Precision 2.0m dish back on the mobile platform now, if I get the chance I might strap the Ka gubbins onto that dish to see what it makes of it.

>> This Ka malarky aint easy, << - - what did i tell you lol :p but very addictive.
It will be good for you to have an increase of dish size up to 2mtr - you will see how much more of a pig it is to land on the sat and to also keep the signal stable. You will only need to blow on the reflector and the signal will drop - glad your enjoying the experience though :Y. Keep us posted.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
@moonbase

Better strap that mobile platform down good and tight right now - or it might be "somewhere else" tomorrow!

It aint going anywhere, it is raised up off the castors onto the immobilisers and it is in the corner of the patio closely protected on 3 sides by the house and a shed.

I'd be more worried for the shed!

It's been a strange week here at my location for anything on 16° / 7° / 4.9° East 21 GHz, with very poor signal strength levels which i put down to very heavy rain both here & probably the up-link areas as well, but noticed last night that they have mostly all come back up in strength - 21.608 H has decreased in strength with me though.
