Starting to struggle here (north of Nice\Cannes) with the 130cm, EU's (+19e lnb on same dish) coming in at full blast, but UK's often only around 7 to 8 dB & HD's gone. Previously much better, with some healthy margin on most transp. Dish is well aligned. Am suspecting tree growth, but could also be temporary lower sat levels, so before doing anything, anyone else seen any level drop in south France ?
Thanks

Same problem here in the Var. This time of year sat levels always reduce and if its raining not good at all. I upgraded a few years ago from a 130cm to a 150cm dish ( installed on the ground) and we just manage to keep reception on our Humax 1000S even with light rain at this time.

Excellent (not your reception problems, but the information :O)
So I wont touch anything ftm, but seems I may have to one day plan for a bigger dish and better placement (trees).

Hello I am in the Aude south of Narbonne...planning to upgrade to a 150 dish as the 125 here leaves you with no Hd ones...
Can you please tell me about your reception quality with your 150? Do you get bbc1/2 in hd all the time? Channel 4hd and itv hd? How about when there is rain? Thank you for helping....H

i3 has much much good stuff imo, one of the channels I'd miss the most if any trouble getting freesat. Poirot, Doc M., Heartbeat, Midsomer M, Foyle's W., Lewis, Touch of F. etc. Am recording regularly and watching later, to jump over ads.

thank you for the advice,so it s itv3,I'll have a look
Then,if you re in France
you ll get the same over a simple aerial,Poirot is on TMC(10)
and the others around on M6,TF1,Chérie 25,all with English audio
& maybe less ads than on ITV...You ll need a grid for French tv,easy to get,"Le Zappeur" is given as a free paper in your mailbox... Enjoy our region!

Star Trek and ST:TNG are both on the Horror channel at the moment. Channel 138 on Freesat according to the Radio Times.

No probs. The version of ST being shown is the remastered one in 16:9 aspect ratio. The better resolution is wasted on the low quality SD channels but the sound is also remastered, which should come through.

If you can pick up 19 East then Tele5 shows a number of Raumschiff incarnations (not all of them good)

Hi Henrithefourth, just an update for you. No ITV HD at all. All other HD's good on Freesat via Humax 1000S. To cover the times when reception is very poor I have installed a VPN on a small Gli router with UK access connected to our internet box. Then I use Ondemand on the Humax for ITV Hub and Iplayer etc. which works well. As our dish is on the ground I had to prune branches this week and flowers as they were covering the dish.
My dish came from 2galli in France and I have installed four of these for friends locally. There is a 1 metre restriction here hence my dish is on the ground. A friend has a 1 meter Gilbertini on his roof and this works well although smaller and seems better quality. The signal here is like the edge of a cockle shell and varies tremendously over a small area. Setup and LNB type is critical I use a Opticum quad which works really well with a very weak signal.

Getting even worse here, now getting only a few on 2e. As the eu's are still 100% full blast + the side-mounted 19e lnb not affected, looks like a sustained decline of the uk signal, maybe there's some lobe\null drift that hits south France.

Maybe your dishes need a little fine tuning?

Over here, little to no change in signal levels for this time of year.

For the past few months here in SE Spain, I have been seeing massive fluctuations in signal level every few days.
Today, for instance, is excellent. I am just about on the verge of seeing BBC1 HD at 4.00pm in the afternoon. This is unheard of during the summer here.
A few days ago, I was struggling to get ITV1 SD which is always available. I have a huge number of clients who have wiped out their Humax channels by trying to do a Freesat Re-tune (to fix their reception problems?) whilst 11425H is too low to lock on.

I am putting it down to atmospherics +/or the Jetstream being much further south than normal (just my own pet theory).
