We had squally hail showers yesterday, then it was increasingly windy during the night. When I went out this morning I noticed a large branch had broken off one of the fir trees and had brought down the power line to the house (which runs OH across the lawn), luckily it was still on. A call to Enedis and it was sorted out by early afternoon...

I feel kind a busy last time, building the greenhouse. Soon will plant some tomatoes and hot papers.

We'd all love to know what will sprout from those "hot papers" - "hotpants" maybe? :-wow

I take it that starting the "Break out the BBQ" thread may no be very advisable right now...unless you have it in a section on it's own..

Well I got a useful tip from the Gardenage Section of our one and only Newspaper of the week suggesting sowing Green Bean seeds in toilet-roll holders. There is a slight problem with that ...............

I don't think there's a prohibition on a barbeque on your own property (indoors?) providing there are no outside visitors.

Our next door neighbour had a small BBQ for some sausages yesterday evening - only "slight" problem: the BBQ is one of those small, round ones, but he had it on the ground and he is around 6ft 2" tall, so you can guess what that looked like:-rofl2

Oh of course not. For instance, I often open the door in my pyjamas..
OMG! Good job (especially if the "front door" in your jammies is "accidentely" open!) I won't be knocking on your door anytime soon! :-rofl2

That is how satellite stuff helps to grow vegetables VIDEO Perhaps soon I will need another 12" actuator. If somebody has some spare, please do not trow them away :confused

Something possibly simpler - just fitted one of these to my greenhouse Decdeal Greenhouse Windows Opener, Temperature Controlled Automatic Vent Opener with Double Spring: Amazon.co.uk: Garden & Outdoors
IIRC, this is the 3rd one in about 30 years, so they generally seem to last about 10 years each.
