Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Given the forecast weather (Brrrrh:-ohmy) this week, how about a few more "tales from the storms"? :D

ATM, the wind's blowing a good 'un here - but I'll bet it's worse further North!

OTOH - like another life - sitting outside in shorts!

We had a heavy "blast" here between 7.30 & 8am - but I'm sure those further North and West probably fared much worse.

(I would have posted that here this morning, but I thought this thread had been Closed !)

Nay lad. Nobbut virtually imperceptible drizzle all day. Not even enough to make the ground wet.

You'd probably be needing all that water to "put it out" if you were here in the UK

Actually, if it's very spicy, water makes it worse. Yoghurt takes the 'heat' out of the food. (SWMBO lived and worked in India for quite a few years)

I was just about to say that "it's having another blast" when the house power went off about 20 mins ago - the main RCBO had tripped, and then did that again until I disconnected for the power extension to the garage (there's separate switch for that, Thank Goodness!) so we are "all-OK" in the house, but I now need to try to find out what's happened to the cable down to the garage (it's been there over 20 years with no probs, so what's happened now? - apart from "water has got in somewhere", but where??)

And it's now still hammering down almost an hour later

Don't think I'll need some of those anytime soon, unless there's a tsunami in the North Sea or the Artic/Anartic icecaps melt completely:rolleyes: - which case you will almost certainly also WILL be needing yours "24/7" as well.

I don't think that CCTV camera installation is likely to the culprit because that's PoE from a decent-brand AC-DC PoE supply unit (not the one I put in there when you fitted the camera and cable) which would have isolated it from the mains supply and would probably have shutdown had the camera weather-sealing failed.

My current suspected culprit is the fairly cheap directly mains-connected PIR light that I fitted to the garden side of the garage wall earlier in the year to cover the approach from the house. I will be investigating that later this morning - thankfully it can be isolated from the garage distribution system simply by removing the plug from the adjacent 13A skt inside the garage.
