looks good but it is pricey, even in Oz
There is another cheaper model with collapsible blade from Breadman BK1050S only $75 from Amazon USA
Not sure if they sell it in Europe and under which brand.
Edit: There are bad reviews about collapsible blades they tend to break after a short while and Breadman company don't offer replacement parts.

Take care. If it's from the USA it'll probably be 110v rather than 230v.

Thanks. Yes you are right.
I tried to find the European brand names but it seems Breadman is only sold in the USA.
The Breville model looks really fantastic but unfortunately too pricey.

Ouch indeed. Amazon gives a 50 Pounds discount from listed price 250 Pounds.
I would definitely buy it if I was living in the UK, especially after I watched the presentation by the blonde lady.
A bit too high than other models (I mean the machine of course)

I´m glad I watched that, after all, you would not want your collapsible paddle in the wrong position, would you?

In this video clip, there is a stage after kneading when the machine beeps to signal to the user to take out the kneading blade (paddle). This is a clever way for not having a hole inside the loaf of bread, that is if you don't mind getting your hands a little bit dirty taking out the blade. There will still be a very small hole because of the spindle, not a big deal really.
If this works, then there is no need to look for smart solutions like collapsible paddles.

If you're not happy with the all-purpose flour you can add a few teaspoons of wheat gluten. Check Amazon.
I've never tried it myself though.

I had another go yesterday, using bread flour from same manufacturer, exactly same ingredients and the result was a little bit better, but not quite the dream bread I am trying to make.
It was tasty after it cooled down, but the bottom was too hard because of the proximity to the heating element.
Also it was too crumbly and left a lot of crumbs on the plate.
I left it in the fridge overnight (not freezer) and this morning it didn't taste good and looked too dry.
I think a lot depends on the bread making machine and my Morphy Richards model is probably not such a good one.
Here is my recipe for Basic Bread, medium crust with Loaf Size 700gm
Bake time 60 minutes.

Water 250ml
Margarine or butter 1 tbsp
Salt 1tsp
Dry milk 1.5 tbsp
Sugar 1.5 tbsp
Bread flour 450gm
Dry Yeast 1.25 tsp

I couldn't find dry milk in the shops so I skipped that and used best quality olive oil instead of margarine or butter.
Is there any way to improve on this recipe or on my method?
I might try again and use the bread machine to make dough and then stick it in the oven and see if that helps.

That looks a bit low on water. If you try it again, I'd increase the water a little; say an extra 25 ml (and maybe a further 25ml the next time) and see if that helps.

I agree about water: I use 300ml for a 400g (weight of flour) loaf.

Here's last night's effort - a rare All White

Thanks. I will try to add more water.
Is there anything else I can add to the ingredients or use butter instead of olive oil?
Next test this Saturday.

The balance and nature of the other ingredients looks about right.

Try a little more water on the next one without changing anything else.

For your 450g flour, I reckon 320 or 330ml water should be in the ballpark.

Actually I used 400gm exactly, simply because with 2 x 1 kg packs I can make 5 loaves. Just simple arithmetics
I will try using 300ml water next time.
