Unless you have a C-Band Extended LNB that covers the frequency range of 4500 - 4800 MHz you will not be able to receive any of the C-Band signals in the extended range that are the subject of this topic. General C-Band LNB's do not cover this frequency range, you need a model that overs the range.
Yes, as MB says an extended LNB required for the extended range, usually available from the USA or China...

Sorry but my reference to simple 22Khz switch will do the job of switching between low and High band this was on SCOPUS SMW Ku-Band Quad Multiband LNB he has for sale since I have a single feed and his LNB is dual feed High + Low . But on my corotor there is a Gardiner 44 Kelvin 3.7 - 4.2 Ghz which like you say does cover 4500-4800 Mhz , 30 years ago I would plug the C Band LNB into my Scanner via a DC blocker which would cover the IF freq 950 - 1450 Ghz and you could find some interesting things to listen to . I wonder whats on 4500 - 4800 as I see that SMW sell a C band LNB that does 3.600–4.800 GHz I hate to think of the price . Looking at my Corotor spec that is only good for 3.7 - 4.2 so I would need to make some changes .

Maybe a test for this new project...
"
TV TEM, an affiliate of TV Globo, has signed a multi-year contract with Eutelsat Communications (Paris:ETL) for capacity on its EUTELSAT 65 West A satellite to distribute its programming within its concession region in the São Paulo state.

The partnership has enabled TV TEM to seamlessly migrate its feeds from traditional C-band (3.7 GHz to 4.2 GHz) to Planned C-band (4.5 GHz to 4.8 GHz) on the EUTELSAT 65 West A satellite, allowing for the clearing of the traditional C-band frequencies for 5G deployment in Brazil. TV TEM has the widest coverage area in the State of São Paulo with 318 municipalities within a region of 8.3 million inhabitants, around 49% of the population of the upstate of São Paulo State.

The operation took place under Eutelsat’s ‘Planned C-Band’ solution, developed to offer Brazilian broadcasters a simple procedure to adapt or replace equipment and repoint antennas to the orbital 65°W position, with some 300 sites completing the migration in less than 45 days.

Commenting on the contract, Rodrigo Campos, Managing Director of Eutelsat do Brasil, said the company is delighted to welcome TV TEM to EUTELSAT 65 West A. The firm's ‘Planned C-Band’ solution offers a seamless and cost-effective proposition for Brazilian broadcasters required to migrate their signals out of the lower end of the C-band spectrum, while offering them unparalleled coverage of the Brazilian market.

Ewerton Maciel, Technology Director of TV TEM, added that the company has a robust satellite operation with a diversity of transmitting sites and automatic power control to serve viewers demanding a premium service with the highest reception quality. Eutelsat has perfectly understood the regulatory and technological challenges of this migration, and TV TEM is pleased to rely on them as the company's Partners "

A bit of a surprise, the Chinese C Band Extended LNB has a wider frequency range than is indicated on the label. The LNB label states a frequency range of 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz, however, in practice I captured signals as low as 4.013Ghz from an EBS Pro scan for Left circular polarised frequencies.

I have yet to run a scan for Right circular polarity frequencies as I need to rotate the LNB in the polo pipe to change the orientation of the single probe so that it detects right circular polarity. I will probably run that scan tomorrow. I have attached a picture of the EBS Pro result for the Left circular polarity scan.

It looks like the frequency range for these Chinese LNB's is approximately 4.010GHz to 4.800GHz.

Hi -
I picked up one of these Extended L.n.b,s DSC02482-Optimized.JPG at a bargain price the other week - After playing around for quite some time .... i managed to pick up the one listed extended transponder at 40.5 West - using the 3m Prodelin ... DSC02476-Optimized.JPG DSC02477-Optimized.JPG

This dish is very picky about the type of feed etc - it may take a while to find the the best one for this l.n.b. ......
The - L.0. setting is different to the one you were using ... but like yours its picking up frequencies lower than listed -
the lowest i could see was 3936 L 9600.

From the location i currently have the dish at - Yes,- i,m pretty certain i can ... I was trying to pick up from there - a couple of nights ago, without success ! ..... Not a hint of signal ? - was beginning to think the l.n.b. was dud , as it would not see anything yesterday from 40.5 W either. .... but having changed the coax cable and experimented with different feeds i got a result.
Will return to 65 west tonight - (if the weather allows me to set up a monitor outdoors) for another go ..

in c band the LO is always upper than the frequency we try to reach !
with 5750 it goes from 4800 (5750-950) to 3600 (5750-2150)
it s probably the same lnb as 3400-4200 with LO 5150 where they have just increase LO to 5750 !!!!

if there is some kind of band pass filter some channels can be invisible !!

Some success at 65 W this time round .... 3 H t.p,s h 1-Optimized.JPG h 2-Optimized.JPG h 3-Optimized.JPG

2 V t.p.,s v 1-Optimized.JPG v 2-Optimized.jpg

and various others under lock u lock 1-Optimized.JPG u lock 2-Optimized.JPG

Not tried fully optimizing the l.n.b. arrangement yet ... so maybe a little more signal to be had ?
Certainly happy with this result though.

Regards .

Nelson, i noticed on my EBSPro scan that 4567 H was not picked up even though it was about 10dB but was locked ok on analyser and another rx - I had the 'Filter' on EBSPro set to miss out 'ACM' signals , i removed the filter to 'None' and re scanned and 4567 H was shown and locked.
Here's the EBSPro scan from around 2.30pm with 'Filter' set to None65° West - Ext Cband Hor. FILTER OFF - .JPG

Thanks for the scans and info ... @John The info will be very helpful to me ... knowing what is possible and what d.b reading to expect , when i get around to trying different feed assemblies.
