As you probably know by now, the company is "going into administration" because of the Facebook scandal - but which one is (or "should be") next?
PS1: please could a Staff Member correct my mis-spelling of "Analyitica" in the thread title to "Analytica"

Facebook, followed by Twitter.

Nothing these two corporations get up to is remotely 'social'.

Might be a "good idea" in principle - but far too many subscribers (including us!) use it far too much for it to "go Bust". Nowadays, many of "us" have to now accept that "big data" is Here and harvests our data, and will be doing that for the foreseeable future, but, at least, we expect ("hope"?) that Amazon is/will not be "involved in politics", unlike Cambridge Analytica! - so it is highly unlikely that it will.

OTOH, Amazon, and "the like" (and that includes Twitter, Facetime, Instagram, etc.), must be made to pay appropriate taxes (etc.) in this and other countries.

The company will be back with a new name and the same directors in exactly the same line of business running out of the same offices before you can say "." .

There must be some obscene amounts of money floating around in the backgrond if a $5bn fine isn't an issue.

Facebook had been expecting this. It told investors back in April that it had put aside most of the money, which means the firm won't feel much added financial strain from this penalty.

Caught red-handed

Facebook bosses told MPs they had learned users' data had been misused via a December 2015 Guardian report.
But a US watchdog has now said Facebook workers flagged the problem three months earlier.

Of course this is what happens when a company grows too big, too fast, as we all know a good boss delegates, but then so many layers of management delegate and one loses control of what others are doing within the company.

And I should also have included Management "B***S***", downright Management criminality (pretty much "been there, seen that" at least once!), and finally (finally??) there's pure management naivety i.e. a total inability to understand what the business is about, what it needs to do, how to do it (and how not to), what is "morally acceptable" (and what is not), what is lawful (and what is not!), etc., etc.........
