Tevion mini satellite dish

hi im new to the world of satellites as I have cabe tv but I resently installed one of those tevion mini satellite dishs. But after I installed it, it seems that the majority of channels are scrambled including channel 4 and 5. I was wondering would I be able to hook up a freesat reicever to the existing dish if so is the goodmans HD version any good as they are selling one for £70 at my local currys.
any help wuld be apprciated, thanks in advance Boney

Welcome to satellites forum,

A freesat receiver will show Ch4 fta along will many other channels. No Ch5 ATM but it's due to join the platform very soon.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Simple answer is yes, you can use a freesat box in place of your Tevion receiver... :)

I would avoid Currys if I were you for the moment as they seem to be forcing customers to pay for for installation of boxes on existing dishes or they refuse to sell the box to you, so try Argos or something instead... :)

Your current receiver should give you channel 4 free to air, it is on 10729V/22000.

A Freesat box would not give you channel 5 either.

£70 is a good price for a HD Freesat box I think. Obviously, stand your ground, and don't pay for installation.:)

Oh yeah, so it is:-rofl2 last time I checked, that transponder was full of ITV stations. The labelling is a bit iffy though, just getting 92XX starting at 9211 and finishing with 9281.

That's a choice of Channel 4 on 3 different transponders including FTV up at 12.168.
What a bonus, spoilt for choice lol :D
