I would have expected them to have fitted the bearings in opposing directions with the flanges going from inside out or outside in and using a bar through the whole lot would be stronger rather than 2 bolts.
Wow that's a nice bit of kit!Just in case you decide to look into modding the mount to accept a pair of flange bearings top and bottom I have attached a picture of a Precision polar mount that shows the bearings mounted in opposite directions at the top and bottom of the inner rectangular frame.

I nearly went white, but sock fluffLol, I bought a light grey carpet for the room (wee bit darker than yours) and I think it looking a bit grubby and that's in a "No shoes" house, nowt will beat my dad's number........White carpet......Why? Holy cow lol
