I almost always get Channel 4HD on this astra 2G tp :11127 V 22000,
and have a very variable reception of BBC HD...on 10818,10847 on 2E ,2F

Could I improve BBC by losing out on Channel 4?
Is there a sizeable difference between E, F and G from my location, south of France?
I 'm not attracted to one region ,just the strongest signal! BBC-NI was strong ,but it suddenly vanished..
I 'm using a 120cm,set up 8 years ago

2E is at 28.5°E whereas 2F & 2G are 28.2°E so yes there's a small difference in alignment between the two positions. As it's been up for so long it may be worth realigning the dish anyway.

2F and 2G are "pre-skewed" a small amount but, as 2E replaced a Eutelsat satellite which did not have pre-skew, I'm not sure that's the same as its SES siblings. So skew may also be a problem.

No notable differencies at my location being on the extreme/outside area of the footprint as far as skew's in question. Day-in oscilations in power (EIRP) result from either in-orbit solar panel orientation or sun/shade location of the satellite.

1,8 Channel Master, Black Pro LNB with CM feedhorn for 28 E which is my main interest when watching TV. VU+ DUO 4K SE, VU+ DUO 2, Octagon SF8008 and Vantage 8000 S and TS receivers. Fixed dishes at: 42 E (0,75 m), 28,2/28,5 E (1,8 m), 19,2 E (1,5 m), 13 E (1,1 m), 9 E (0,7 m), 5 E (1,2 m) and 1 W (0,7 m).

I have my CM 1,8 pointing at 28,35E. This is the best position for a reliable reception of all three birds. Regarding the UK beam 2E is the strongest. Comes in at 12-12,5 dB most of the time. 2F is slightly weaker at 10,5-11,3 db. 2G pretty much the same as 2E.
The skew is VERY sensitive on 11126 V and 11023/11053 H.

The European beams are very strong especially the one on 2G.

I thought you might already have done the fine tuning, don't forget skew as well while you are out there.

I did that a week ago, worked fine for five days, and plunged yesterday...
seems either propagation is very "down"
or the signal power has lowered.
The modifications in strength and quality from my fine tuning are still there (notably Channel 5 and CNN , both changed with more quality,less strength(it was reverse before I fine tuned);
only the bbcHD plunged;even the SD bunch(12422) lost strength.
i had until last week BBC NW HD and BBC2 NI HD with a good signal;London not received.
They came back slightly yesternight late after 11PM CET

12422 H was turned off quite some time ago. Maybe you mean 10803 H which is among the weaker ones on 2E here. 10818 V and 10847 V which carries BBC One London and BBC Two are among the strongest.
Channel 5 on 11306 H (2F) is pretty weak here. Much weaker than 11306 V and 11344 H/V on the same satellite.

yes 10803 of course,I have checked it 5 mis ago.
Interesting that the beams are not "symetrical",your "weakest" tend to be my "strongest"!
Then,the weather pattern also differs
Distance from Central UK ,(Droitwich)however is same as the crow flies!
