More than likely due to Cost restraints with the economic climate so shift production from Korea to China use cheaper components add a few features such as Youtube, Picasa, IPTV capability and sell it to Joe public as the next best thing but at a cheaper price

I gave my d15 to my sister for FreeSat never was over keen on the lack of sensitivity & the failure of the transponders to go in sequence after adding new transponders during a blind scan the Spectrum analyser is just a gimmick take all the transponders out of a satellite & it shows no activity,

I have now gone back to the 5402HD M1 & M2 as I agree with the feedback here you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear (TM5402HD M3)

Hmmmm, crap is a strong word on it's own. Compared to my Humax my f3/5 is (was) slightly better. Then again, you may consider the performance of my Humax to be 'crap' :).

;) I can only give an opinion on what i tested on my own setup and as with everything different members setup will give differing results whether your 2200 miles away od just up the street so to speak.

I will hand it to technomate though they do seem to listen sometimes to Users of there receivers and try and implement fixes in newer patches something which is sadly lacking from the DrHD series of receivers

Do you know if the M1 and M2 have the same tuner ?

Ok, so out of the current crop of receivers which is the dxr's choice with the right combination of sensitive receiver and fast accurate blind search? Vote now!

We have had threads about the most sensitive tuner and fastest blind scan before. My top 5:

1. Technomate 5402
2. x2 premium
3. dr hd f15
4. x2 premium III
5. technomate 5302- for tuner sensitivity not its blind scan.

Which 5402?

M3. I haven't been using my tm5302 that much lately and I put it to the test yesterday and it's right up there at number 1, its blind scan though is just too slow.

Just slightly behind the tm and x2 receivers, very difficult to distinguish any differences but up there. If your thinking of a f15 purchase, you can't go wrong.

How come Linux receivers never get into the blind search to the top blind search sensitive receivers. Some like the Golden Interstar Speed lx3 boast blind scan and have images that allow you to fine tune your search requirements. Is it false advertising or can a Linux receiver do the job?

From what I've heard, the VIX image for the VU+ range of receivers has a blind scan which has parameters that the user can define...

Ah, the sows ear :) (to quote a-n-other).

Interesting how opinions on these various receivers and their respective tuners vary amongst this community.

With the exception of the d15, when you purchase a technomate or dr hd receiver you are acquiring a receiver with an extremely sensitive tuner.

Yes, must say my TM f3/5 was the best for me here so far.
