hi everybody new to this forum want to explore my options regarding new setup. already got one 65 cm fixed system for astra 28.2. I want to install 3 lnbs to new fixed dish i.e 19.2E,16E,13.2E. doesn't matter about fta channels on them 3 satellites or is there any better combination. thinking of buying technomate 80cm mesh,3 lnb bracket, technomate 5402 receiver,3 inverto black ultra lnbs & 4x1 diseqc switch.
my location is Edinburgh is this setup possible. Thank you for letting me join satellites.co.uk

Hi, you will find it very difficult to pick up those three satellites with standard LNBs, they are too close together, although there are bullet nose style LNBs made by companies like Alps for that type of setup

Not very much at all that an 88cm dish can collect on 16E nowadays.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
And frankly (and owning both!) you'd be better off getting something like an Octagon SX88+ (or one of the other SX88 variants) than a TM5402 - much more modern with very regularly updated firmware, pretty much the same (or better) sensitivity, and probably quite a bit cheaper from a decent supplier like "World of Satellite"

Multi lnbs vs motor

IMO, advantages of multiple lnb's or multiple dishes: easy to install (motorized may need lots of tweaking before getting arc tracking right), one may f.ex. watch 28 while recording from 19 & 13 (impossible on motorized, only 1 sat at a time), instant switching between sats (no waiting for dish to move to sat positions).

1. the SX88 is, overall, probably the best bet because the TM is an old design of receiver with no official Technomate support whilst the Octagon has pretty decent on-going support (AND a lot of regularly-updated streamed internet content!) - but buy whichever from a reliable dealer rather than from ebay.
2. "Multi lnbs vs motor" - either receiver can handle both
3. Installing a motor - "easy" in theory but, as will be seen from many threads on the forum, NOT generally in practice! Thus, if all you want is 19E/16E/13E then a fixed dish (of the appropriate size!) with several LNB's is generally much simpler/quicker.

Edit: @4wd 's comment about recording stations on one sat whilst watching a channel on another would require a more sophisticated receiver (thus read "expensive") with multiple tuners rather than an SX88-type single-tuner receiver (or at least AFAIK!)

Frankly, the bigger the dish then probably the better (especially with you being quite a lot further North than I am at 51N) as that will give you more scope to move to a motorised setup in the future.

Can not go bigger than 100 cm as it will need council approval I believe any difference between mesh and solid mesh is more discrete I think

Depends how tall your house is, but 23 degrees elevation which is what Astra 19.2 is in Edinburgh, is a gradient of 1 in 2.356, so for every unit of height of the house, you need to be 2.35 units away from it, less the height of the dish mount of course.

Here in Scotland you will definitely need a 1m dish if you want a good selection of fta channels off 16E with reasonable rain fade capability - some of the DVB-S2 8PSK stuff isnt hugely strong up here.
