May buy a Gigablue Quad and wonder whether its T2 module is the same for diff EU countries.
Heard on Tectime that the German T2 is not compatible in Austria ???
Right now I own 4 or 6 sat boxes (SD only) and 3 dishes.

Diff places SW NL DE
I may buy a G Q with T2 and wonder if the hardware is different for diff countries. Heard some story on
Techtime that T2 stuff from Germany would not work in Austria. Funny isn´t. If there is freq limits one
would expect it could be adjusted. Plse respond if you know this GQ - T2 module.

Same hardware, settings are different. Basically, you chose Country and it is done.

The reason it wouldn't work in Austria is that Austrian DVB-T2 is completely encrypted (in Germany Das Erste HD and ZDF HD are FTA as on satellite) including the ORF HD channels!

This uses a cardless CA system with just a CI+ CAM that only works in a CI+ TV or set-top box.

You have to register the CAM (but not pay a monthly fee) just to be able to see public channels ORF 1 and ORF 2 HD, which has caused some controversy as you would expect!
