A basic 28.2 Freesat config, but have had a long history of satellite TV dating back to the analogue 19.2 days. Using a HP ZBook 15 G5 laptop (Core i7-8850H, 32GB RAM, Quadro video card)

My 7 year old Humax HDR-1000S finally bit the dust over the weekend. I knew it was coming for a long time, the HDMI port was randomly dropping video and now the SCART won't output anything either. So now I need to look for something else. But I see the Freesat website now only lists one box and it's not even a PVR. I chanced a second-hand HDR-1010S from eBay but it wouldn't detect any disk.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to replace it with. I wouldn't want a generic FTA receiver because of the need to rescan it when channels change transponders and my fiancée used the Netflix app on the Humax. Any ideas?

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I have a client not far from here that was trying to sell a Humax before Christmas (can't recall the exact model but was a twin tuner and looked top of the range), though I let them down badly with another client of mine when they reneged on the deal.

I will ask again but it might not be before Friday.

Just realised you are in Ireland, so scrap that, even streetmap doesn't go that far, unless the tide has come in :-wow

Pop the top off & see if the caps are bulging around the power supply area. BUT keep your fingers well clear!

No obvious damage on the inside. This box has an external power supply so it could be to blame but I wouldn’t have anything that matches it.
