Most of the time the box is in deep standby, where the harddrive is off.

Anyone tried this? If yes is there still the issues with going beyond 1Tb? Running low on space thanks to more and more good HD content so wanted to upgrade again from 1Tb to something bigger. Can then put the 1Tb in my second Humax box.

Don't foget anyne doing this should use a AV drive as these are designed for the purpose. They do cost a little more but I would not take the risk personally for peace of mind.... For this in the past I have used WD drives, info:

WD AV-GP

Looks like these drives are now available upto 3Tb also with SATA-III which is backwards compatible with SATA-II (but never tried this yet).
