Hi folks
I have just purchased a sagem dbox 2 and dont know how to get it recieving channels,it has all the latest software and has be debugged.The dish is a 6 month old sky dish.Ive done a scan and its picked up various sattelites.The instructions i got are in German and im completly new to this and dont know much,do i have to change settings?hope some nice person can help.

As far as I know a sagem dbox 2 is a cable TV box if it is in German how do you know it is for satellite TV?

definately for sat.tells u on cover.I know u get them for cable aswell.

So what makes you think a non motorised dish has picked up various satellites? If your dish is pointing at 28.5 Deg East then that is what it will pick up, unless you are moving it by hand to pick up other satellites.

Yes..

BUT

each satellite cluster in orbit uses more or less the same frequencies. All you are actually picking up is the Sky channels:D

Because they are encrypted to stop you watching them, Mr Murdock would not be very happy if you were watching them without paying. As already mentioned by my esteemed collegue it is most likely that what you are receiving are just different Sky channels not different satellites. The receiver is probably pre-programmed with a selection of satellites, transponders and channels, these frequencies are often the same as you move from satellite to satellite. So the answer was the first line

No not really, perhaps it means it has been patched but for sure you will not be able to view any encrypted programs on Astra2 as it is not compramised and totally secure
