Hi Guys need some help, advice on NEW MOTORISED SATELLITE SETUP
Have a Technomate 5402 M3 Satellite receiver and a Technomate TM2600 M3 Diceqc HH Motor. Quad LNB, 2 cables 1 to motor then to LNB and another straight to LNB
Have everything setup but the first thing I notice was when I tried manual button it did not move east or west checked software and deleted limits but still no movement. There is on motor power green led and a flashing orange signal to say received command then a solid orange light .Limits set atfactory 70Deg West and 70Deg East didn't check them as it means taking dish off hope its something else
second thing is two red bars I presume signal strength only left hand side solid at 96% and right hand flashing 0 - 97% 97% is only a quick flash I think its looking for signal????
First of all no motor movement and Im I right on the red bars signal strength Can anyone help.
Thank you John

Usually when the signal bars are flashing it means there could be a loose connection, which could also explain why no power is getting to your motor.
Try remaking the F Connector connections, ensuring there is sufficient braid, making a contact:

I could be wrong, but I think the TM motors have a light behind one of the manual buttons, showing when connected to power.

You might have a shorted cable between LNB and motor, and the motor will not move if this is the case.

OK update got the motor moving don't know if it was a bad connection or if cable was in the wrong output {which it might have been} ie
2 outputs on sat Receiver LNB and loop I had it in loop plus I had 2 cables going out to dish the loop one was to motor then onto LNB and the other was going from receiver LNB straight to dish LNB.
SO should I only have one cable going out to LNB via the motor
CAN i have 2nd cable going from receiver loop to LNB????

PLUS have moved to UK Astra Sat 28.2 and have no signal so have to adjust Dish and not the motor bracket setting?????
Thanks again for your help

NO, do not connect the loop output to the LNB, the loop output is for a second receiver.

For help locating the correct direction for the satellite your looking for, try dishpointer dot com, enter your location and the satellite your looking for, then zoom into the location where the dish is mounted and click on it, this will give you a map with a line pointing at the satellite.

Your two bars are usually signal strength, and Signal Quality, the second is the most important.
It sounds like your motor hasn't been aligned correctly.
The easiest method is to zero your motor, dish and LNB, then use your receiver, using USALS, after entering your Latitude, and Longitude, to send it to a suitable satellite, preferably close to your Longitude, then physically align the dish, on this satellite.

You can try using Diseqc 1.2, to manually move your dish, using your receiver, to try to get a signal, off 28.2E.
Also ensure that you have chosen an active transponder.
Have you read the online manual?

Hi set the motor up as manual the dish is by the eye as I have another dish on a wall opposite going to buy a satellite finder meter to be sure
Will the meter align the dish declination angle ???
PS: found 1 channel as it stands so everything working other than make sure alignment is right

Check satellite sites, like lyngsat, as they quite often change:

dishpointer.com will give the necessary info to get you with the ball park, this is as close to your location I can get with the lat, long you gave.
Sat ASTRA 28.2E.jpg

As you can see it will give you the info you need, just move the marker to your exact location and zoom in.

That very good! :-clap

And, as you can get all those, also have a look for Hellasat 4 on 39E and Turksat on 42E as both are very strong in the UK.

Even 26E on such a small dish. Good job.

Next problem - what to watch...

OTOH, you have to be very careful with "26E" as, especially with a small dish like a Zone 2 because it has quite a wide "acceptance angle", you can pick up a lot of stuff that is actually on 28.2E/Astra 2.

Some transponders on Turkmen/Monacosat at 52.5E are receiveable on an 80cm dish and so you might be able to pick up those up - but 60E is probably not doable.
