I have tried to upload some channel lists, but they are in rar format.

Is there any way please to add rar in to the accepted formats for uploading to the forum.

Many thanks.
Chris.

Although I used to use it myself years ago it is not a format used very much these days and the software the forum runs on these days is inflexible in many ways, having said that we can investigate

Can't you put the files inside the more widely used zip wrapper?

You don't need anything except Windows since XP at least. You create an empty zip file and then copy the files you want inside it all using Windows Explorer.

Not sure about Apple but Linux guys have probably got RAR hard wired into the OS.

I am using win 10 on the pc's.

I have put an evaluation copy on for now, if I use it regularly then I will have to buy it.

Try downloading 7-zip, this is a free zip utility program and should allow you to save files in a .zip format.

Ta I will have a look for that in a minute.

Just installed it. It's very easy to use.

Thanks :-)

In my experience rar's are still an extremely popular archive format (and easily extracted in Win 8) - well over 90% of my downloads over the last 3 months have been in rar format with very few zip files.

Chris,

Try highlingting the file then right click it, the menu option should give you a "Send To..." sub menu, one of the options on the sub menu is to send the file to a zip file. It still reatains the original file also.

Hope it works for you?

Rgds
