Were commercially prerecorded SVHS tapes ever released (PAL, NTSC or SECAM) in UK, Europe or the US?

Yes, I have some from the PlayBoy centerfolds series, they came out in SVHS just before DVD's came popular.

The movies Ghost, The hunt for Red October and Robo Cop were released in SVHS format, they didnt do so well as most didn't like the added price and almost no one had a SHVS tape player.

Well I will have to continue searching for them. I collect obsolete AV format recorders/players (everything from 8 track and vinyl video discs (CED and VHD) through HD VHS and Minidisc to HD DVD) and I like to have commercially recorded media to compare performances and the occasional content that is not available on other media. At present the remote control count for my AV/satellite setup to be stands at 26 plus 4 for switch boxes with 5 devices not having RC facility.

No I don;t have a stand alone CDi box but one of my boxes claims to support it in its specs but have no CDi disc to try it.
