"TivùSat comes to the end of 2010 with over 750,000 smart cards activated (751,468 up to 21st december) and has passed it's growth objectives for the year.

With a constant 2000 new activations every day, more than 50 tv channels and 32 radio channels available, the free satellite service is now a reality for Italian families".

Good progress ................... is it still possible that once an as yet undeclared critical mass is reached, some of the true FTA offerings on Hotbird might be lost to us?

PS: Try Alt 151 ................. :D

Just a shame the requirement for a code fiscale makes getting a card so difficult.

Toggle your NumLock!

It only works if you have a numeric keypad on your PC/Lappie - sorry, should have said.

Minor point as the accented letter can be copied and pasted anyway.

Ciao

if you get it in bundle with a Tivùsat CAM (around 70 €) or a Tivùsat STB, no codice fiscale is required

Really? Are you saying the bundles now come with pre-activated Cards?

They do include a Card, but I think we were under the clear impression you still had to Activate them eg via Tivùsat website ............ which entails giving enough info for them to verify your credentials.

Cards are definitely NOT pre-activated, I know that for a fact. Maybe they've introduced an automated activation via telephone??? Can you give us some more info Danit??

just checked the website, it still asks for codice fiscale.

I confirm, cards are not pre-activated and Tivùsat website ask for codice fiscale for activation

the point is that, if you purchase the card in bundle with the CAM or a STB, the card is not in your name, so you an activate it with any italian name and fiscal code (you can get one from codicefiscaleonline.com)

differently, if you get the "card only" via RAI website, the card is strictly linked to your RAI license fee and to your name, and you cannot activate it in someone's else name

Spot on guys, cant believe i never was this thread, was using different key words.

This is what i have red in various places.

I was very confused so I'll try and be clear.

I to I'm in the UK and you Will need Italian details.

As i understand it. Their is no other way of activating this card with out going through the official process. (I thought there could be a hack)
1..If you buy the card only from Rai.it, You will need an Italian address, tax code and proof of TV licence.
2..If it’s part of a package, receiver or cam then you just need Italian address and tax code.
3..Go to the tivusat web site, punch in the details, says your card will be activated in 30 mins.
i think one person can register more than one card. (not sure on this and could change)
4..Use CCcam 2.2.1 or Scam 3.59 to physically activate the card on non Tivusat devices, ie reciver and Cam, leave it on a channel (rai HD) for 5mins.
Done.
