This is where a nice 3D "copier" would come in handy!

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Evan knows I have a JVC unit that does an excellent job of replaying stuff to copy

I am in the process of transferring my collection of VHS tapes to DVD using my Panasonic DMR-EZ49V. Over 200 tapes with a lot of recordings of concerts from the BBC's "simulcast" days before Nicam stereo TV - they used to broadcast simultaneouusly on BBC2 and Radio 1 FM (in stereo) and at the time I had a high end (for the time) VHS VCR with capability to record video from inbuilt tuner and audio from external input. Quality of recorded DVDs is indistinguishable from VHS tape output - no conversion to video output and back to format to record to DVD.

It will also copy the other way VHS to DVD and record TV from its inbuilt DVB T tuner or external RGB (or composite or S VHS or USB ) inputs to VHS or DVD.

You'll have to keep it as the answer I had was "Sorry no" (to postage).

Having scoured Gumtree, I came across this. Seems like a higher end version of the 950, so will see if it's still available. Way more than I wanted to pay, but with a load of analogue equipment stacking up in my room, this should be a decent investment - if only a temporary one.

Thanks for the recommendations, Evan. Checked a few YouBoob videos and the image stability is rock solid and not wobbly like the ones I am used to!

I use a "Dazzle DVD recorder" from Pinnacle systems to do all my VHS to DVD stuff, comes with some nice editing software.

Code:
http://www.pinnaclesys.com/en/products/dazzle/dvd-recorder-hd/

It will take about any video input and record it to your PC, then you can burn as many DVD's as you need.

The bad thing is that my VHS unit has died, and I just found a whole big box of Play Boy centefold VHF tapes..........Darn it..

I use a JVC SVHS machine connected to a half decent pc capture card. Then run the raw captured video through some enhance software. This drastically improves the image quality but sometimes uses a bit of GPU power depending on which filters are being used. Sometimes I'll add audio processing and even go as to align the audio head if it's a mono recording.
