VU+ SOLO SE V2 Heating Problem

The VU+ SOLO SE V2 has an eSATA port and two USB connectors.
I want to free one of the USB connectors and use an eSATA HDD instead for recording.
It is hard to find an eSATA HDD these days but I found a case that comes with eSATA cable and power supply all I need is to insert a SATA internal HDD.
Has anybody used an eSATA and would I expect any problems using it?
I just bought a Fantec USB 3.0 + eSATA Aluminum case without HDD (there are options to order with HDD).
The case comes with USB 3.0 cable BUT not an eSATA cable and I had to add such a cable to my order.
This way I can free the USB connector that I use for recording. Hopefully I will not have any problems, as I have never used an eSATA HDD before.

I can use the freed USB connector to connect the USB fan for cooling the receiver, instead of using a separate power supply.
