The above is a delayed post which should have been made a couple of days ago but was delayed owing to technical problems experience by the poster :)

The race of champions took place on 3rd November 2009

You see it is proof positive that digital channels are much faster than analogue

Would you please do me a favor to help me by analogue receivers in the markets?

Do we still have does kind of receivers in the market? 'coz what I can see around me are digital ones. In addition, all transmissions are changing into digital HD, WS and so on.

It is still possible to get Analogue Receivers (eg Systec, Metronic), but the main market remains in France where many people still use the Atlantic Bird 3 Satellite.

But there are a variety of French Digital TV packages now, so even this market is receding.

Cost? Around 30€ from many French Hypermarkets and Department Stores.

Analogue Transmissions remain unchanged in spec. and will probably be defunct within three years.

How nice and interesting!!! So you mean in France people still use analogue receivers? But what about the people watching Hotbird channels with their HD or non HD receivers. As you know Hotbird is under control of the Latin countries like "Italy, France, Spain" + The Eastern Europe. Hardly you can find British or German channels being broadcasted on Hotbird. Maybe they’re payable or have abonnement. The Cable TVs for example.

I am relativley new to this site and think its geat, can you tell me relative to the Analogue shutdown in some years, will this affect old Sky Receivers such as the DS430N Pace that I don'tthink is a digital receiver or am I getting confused.

Anything you can watch Sky or Freesat channels on currently from Astra 28.2 East is digital.

Thanks for clearing that for me Rolf, the particular receiver is approx 5 years old and thought it might get a switchoff.

Cheers

If I understand your request your asking which receiver can be used ?
I have an Echostar AD 3000 which is digital & analogue so it has the best of both :)

You are getting mixed up between Sky analogue (the old service terminated in the early 2000's transmitted from 19E) and Sky Digital (transmitted from 28E)

Sky DIgital will continue as normal.
The German channels still receivable with an old analogue box will close next April.

I believe it closed a while back with the total disappearance of analogue channels.
