No signal at all on an 80cm here. I can get the Europe beam stuff no problem as long as its not raining (along with Uzbek TV next door at 53E :D).

AS, what's with Uzbek TV? Do they show some odd fetish on the there or something. They speak Russian on that channel half the time so I understand it but most of what I've seen is rubbish.

hi -
had a try here last night under clear skies with C.M.offset 1.8 metre (view partially blocked by a nearby roof )
locked ok on 11785 H 27500 M.B.C. channels (encrypted ) - borderline lock today (as per the picture) -- cloudy skies
some signal but no lock on 11996 V 27500 Yahlive promo
only the slightest trace of signal on "some" other t.p,s

regards nelson.b.

I'd try it on my Fibo (if I ever get that working properly) but anything beyond 42E is obstructed by trees :(

Its just one of the countries Ive been wanting to be able to watch for a long time :D Ive been intersted in the old Soviet countries for a very long time - I used to listen to their English services on short wave in the 1980s

I just watch the pictures as I dont speak more than a few words of Russian.

An excuse for a larger dish then would 1metre bring in 53e when it rains ?

Hi norm360 et al,

For some strange reason I could not get a lock on the following transponder on 29th Aug 2012 when I took the rest of the pictures... but I have nearly always obtained a good signal lock on the frequency each time I have visited this satellite at the right time of day (usually 6pm onwards).

However... I have looked through my picture archive and I have found a few taken on 10th December 2011 ...I know they are not exactly recent... but the O/P simply asked if reception of the West Beam was possible...

12.168H [27500] 5/6 DVB-S [QPSK] 4295 Mbps [West Beam]

TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+
Signal Strength 97%
Signal Quality 56%

Here on my position I don't receiver any transponder, but the 11,823GHz has got some remains so that you know, there was a signal.

The Europebeam is no problem...

This cold and clear evening, since a long time, all except one transponders can be locked of the Yahsat West beam.

The encrypted MBC transponder 11785H remains by far the easiest with its 5/6 FEC, this one always locks during normal weather.

11862H, 11977H and 12169H are pretty similar in difficulty, normally just below lock, but tonight only occasional glitches.

(Dish is Triax TD-110, PC card TBS 6925. The Dr.HD F16 does not do well on these...)

What are the strongest frequencies nowdays, there in Nederland ~ Uk area, please? 11766V constantly freq. here during evening-night with about 5 dB (no lock). Also I get weak signal (125 Gibby) from 11747H and 12034V (only 3-4 dB and no lock either).

One finnish enthusiast obtained 180 pf recently (western Finland). I asked lad to test and 11766V strongest also there with stabile picture. Also almost all east-beam frequencies give signal. But fascinating news is that also 11862H watchable there. As far as I know it is Mena (west) beam. So both beams are possible far away here. (sure Europe-beam would be strongest if it exist still).

How about @hvdh , @martin-f and others..?
