Well done for finally getting the d/w properly plumbed in (did the recent "discussion" on d/ws have anything to do with that?)!If you have to know, Friday & Saturday for me were spent dealing with this mess in order to get the dishwasher in, added the drainpipe for the washer, replaced a single socket with double, and tidied up the mess of spurred-off ring main wiring into a proper junction box rather than stuffed in the back of the single socket, the plastering though, ugh, forget it, stuff's so soft & rotten that you could probably use it to build a sandcastle!!! Just looking at the wall made it fall off it's that bad...

Sunday was my day of rest cos my legs and back were biblically killing me from bending down and crawling about under the counter & sink to get everything done...
OTOH, I can understand your plasterwork problems - had that in my Mum's old Cotswold stone cottage that had a lot of rising damp, and the same thing often happened there. PS: hope your electricty consumer unit has an RCD in it - seems you might need that at times!
Sympathy too with your back - same thing happens to me if I do anything like that.
