I thought I'd take a look at 31.5E with my 80cm dish, having noticed Astra 1G has a West Beam.

Anyway, a Blind Scan came up with one single FTA TV Channel

Diver (It's a Wallpaper type placeholder, with Video of a Diver floating through Tropical Fish)

11429 V 10099

Problem is, it isn't listed as a valid 1G TP, nor does it seem to belong to any Bird there or thereabouts!

Any ideas?

Aha!

Now I see: Flysat has it as Test Card Left 16.01.2014

Well it hasn't left and, as you say, is very strong.

80cm dish in rain set 1.6 deg off.

Thankyou :D

Well I've corrected the Azimuth from 31.5E to 33.1E and my Tuner is nigh on smoking on "Diver"!

Excuse me while I quote myself.

On 31.5E proper, I'm getting the square root of a cocoa tin on the 80cm.

Can't deploy George as the 1.1m doesn't have LoS.

Edit: With dish at 31.5E, I've also got a couple of Eut 33A $ Channels coming in:

Turf TV & TTV Al on 11650 V 10097

If it's the same video as on Eutelsat 3A @ 3.3° East then it's definitely Eutelsat 33B:

I'm sorry it's not 19.5 db .:-doh:-doh

Well here I could do with an attenuator at front end. But seriously I should think that the Satellite guys should tell the customer earth station to lower the uplink Power to a pre-determined level as per contract.

It's very strong in Helsinki too, stronger than the others from this position.

Maybe Astra 2B is in use now for some transponders?
Although 2B and 1G are 0nly 0.16 degrees apart, I wrote down the dB values when pointing to 32.0 East, then moved to 30.7 East.
11758 H and 11934 V came in the same, while the other transponders (Orange Romania) became 0.5 to 1 dB worse.
Also, 11758 H and 11934 V are about 3 dB stronger than the others here.

Blimey thats strong! -Im getting 33B on a marginally misaligned 80cm dish pointing at 36E!

(I tripped over the cable last night when trying to get Azersat back......) When the drizzle stops I shall realign it back to 36E

No sign of Diver - just Turf TV & TTV AL1 on the specified tp.

Just managed to lock these ,real borderline with a bit of pixellation. I'm well chuffed as i've never got anything from this bird before!
