In the end I found a complete installation package and my old files on a hard drive backup. I enclose it here and have put it also on another thread which was askingthe same question. The Birdog site warns not to use their files on the Horizon meters!
I discovered this package on one of my old hard drive backups. This has many configuration files as well as the SatEdit.exe file. My Horizon was the serial port version and I used a USB to serial converter.
The Horizon SatEdit v1.23 program allowed you to program the HORIZON meter but I cannot find a link to download the program. Does any one know of a download location?
To CityAerials - Many thanks for the UK transponder file. It worked perfectly to reprogram my Horizon HDSM v2.5 (serial version) for UK use. I was wondering if there is still a way to modify or change the list?
I can only see this at 28E at my location and I have now more carefully gone either side of this. There is nothing adjacent near 11558H and the signal drops off lock in the normal way as the dish moves. I do no think that there is anything local causing the transmission. I should have said...
I have done further testing now using my 1.2m dish and positioner and am now happy that what I have been seeing at the presumed 3G postion is not Astra 3B. I get the same frequency scan at 28E on the 1.2m dish as I got on the fixed 2.4m dish and if I swing the dish to the east get Astra 5 at...
Thanks - possibly the 11558H that I am locking is from the same satellite (Astra 3B and its middle east beam) but not yet documented. The 11633H looks to be the adjacent peak.
I have now done readings with a TBS 5925 but am still not sure if I am pointing at 2G - what do you think?
A blind scan only locks one transponder at 11558.2H and the 11111H transponder is probably a data stream.
If this is not 2G what is it?
It is more or less in the same position but peaked using the Satlook Spectrum analyser as the 2G transponders have been lit up; and the spectrum looks the same (but much attenuated) from my 1.2m dish when pointed at the old 28.2E location.
I think that I will only be sure what is going on when I...
But I can see from the spectrum analyser that the second peak is not 11082H. I had wondered whether I was on on the wrong satellite but nothing nearby seems to fit the bill.
Many thanks for the scan data - I must be picking up the 11088H peak from somewhere else as its way off from 11082H.
And...
