Thanks for the reply and map link - from that I see what you mean. It also explains something else; on the spot 2 beam why with an essentially identical dish we get a better signal in Portugal near the border with Spain, than at more or less the southern tip of Spain.

Thanks for the confirmation, it's an ever dwindling selection of channels apart from most of the paid Sky ones. Sometimes watched That's TV also but not often. Mrs Martillo liked recording films from Talking Pictures onto the Sky+ drive and watching them whenever, there's a few left 'in stock'...

We still use it every day and it has to be said it has lasted a heck of a lot longer than I thought it would when this all started. I never thought I would see the satellite swap and MEV etc. However they can't just replace it and turn it off in a matter of weeks and the 27th rumour coming...

Thanks. I guess it must have gone to the UK beam then as part of the change, when I scan those parameters manually I just get 'no signal found'.

Has Talking Pictures TV moved to the UK beam on 28.2E? Only receiving the European beam and this channel went to 'no satellite signal' over the weekend.

From memory it's about 35 degrees and the LNB skew is in the opposite direction to that you would have on a dish pointing at 28.2, by about the same amount. Not very technically accurate I know, but it worked...

I agree. We can but hope, although the situation will doubtless change eventually. Might as well watch it while we can, after that I'll be using the Technomate for something else and the iPlayer for BBC1/Radio 6Music :) No doubt We'll all be doing that eventually (streaming, that is)
