    AM radio station list

RTL Radio (Germany) was on DSR (16 channels, uncompressed, 48ks/s, 16 bit) on DFS Kopernikus 1 and TV Sat 2 from 1992 to Jan 1999 when DSR transmissions ended. As far as I know, DSR was never on Astra.

    Which C-BAND lnb, 5g ?

Possibly but the scan was done where I used to have a dish i.e. shielded by the house and trees to the north and by trees in every other direction. There are no cell sites within about 1/2 mile and none line of sight. Using a portable analyser, the levels were 10-20dB higher outside the tree screen.

    Which C-BAND lnb, 5g ?

Here's a scan using an EF Data 35K LNA with a vertical linear feed and scalar ring at 1.5m above ground, no dish. The location is surrounded by trees, near Chelmsford, Essex. The analyser was set to max hold for about 10 minutes. Marker 1 3.8GHz, 2 4.2GHz and 3 peak level Radar altimeters...

    Unusual antique Chaparral feeds

Pictures uploaded for posterity https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305052074612 “THIS HORN WAS A PART OF CHAPARRAL COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING DEPT. AND WAS BEING USED AS A TEST STANDARD HORN.” The dipole looks too small to be C band but the F type is not good for Ku. Is there an LNB in the back...

    Satdump software & wxsat reception

@Terryl Don't give up with Satdump, is can be reliable, I used it continuously for a month or more when STA was close. Most of the following is based on other use of Satdump but I found an RTL stick and looked at that. One problem is that there is no IQ correction to remove the zero term in...

    RC2000 dual axis antenna controller

I suppose it could be an EMC problem but it would need to be a big spike from something that couples to the lines. You could try something like a 10n capacitor across the pulse inputs to ground and/or a resistor, say 1k between inputs and ground. The resistor will drop the impedance of the...

    Satdump software & wxsat reception

Set FFT max to something like -40 or lower and I think you'll then see the noise floor more clearly. You've only got 8 bits dynamic range with an RTL-SDR. Try it on 88-108 to get a feel for it. It's the same in Linux but I've never used that feature, I use WXTrack for Earth orbiters and F1EHN...

    Satdump software & wxsat reception

@Terryl Under the 'Recorder' tab select 'Device' and you should see your SDR in the list. Choose frequency, sample rate, decimation etc as required. Under 'Processing' choose the pipeline wanted. Under 'Recording' record baseband if you want to post process later (can be useful if you don't know...

    Satdump software & wxsat reception

Superb pics, I've put it on the list of stuff to try. I've only used it for Syracuse beacons, Stereo A & Osiris Rex. I found it works very well with Satdump on a local PC and SDR++ server on a remote Pi4 .
