1.8m is a single piece reflector (until it gets damaged by the courier).

Best way to transport is on the roof of a car, or in a large van.
It’s over 220 miles from me
On the roof of the car is bit risky
Better be inside the van

Seller relisted the dish, starting bid £375.

I'd say 375 isn't a bad deal given how much SSS charge for this kit.

I tend to agree that considering the original SSS cost then £375 is reasonable.
However, sale prices seem to have taken a drop lately and there are possibly only the hobby dx men in the UK who are in the market.
£300 to £325 looks reet nice value which I think is probably just a little more than "Manik" wadded up for his dual axis setup without the SSS polar mount.

Go back five years and the price of this kit second hand had a lot higher value as it was the setup of choice for the inclined orbit punters chasing the SIS feeds on 30.9E.
Rollout of fibre/LiveU and less opportunity combined to create an armageddon event for the inclined orbit punters which led to quite a few CM 1.8m setups being sold on eBay.

I have used Shiply recently for transportation of larger items, they seem OK and job listings seem to get plenty of quotes.
AnyVan is another service I have used with success but for more job quotes I think Shiply may have the edge nowadays?

Agreed MB..seller open to best offer as well, could well be bagged for £325-£350

It's not just the inclined orbit stuff, of which there are not many, like you say. I use mine for switching between C and Ku LNBs as well as fine-tuning a low powered satellite reception, because, let's face it, no-one's alignment on the arc is 100%.

Just asked Shipley for quotes
Uploaded the link on Shipley
Used rough dimensions 1.8x1.8x1 meter
Weight 60kg
Are they able to dismantle the dish
How likely will it get damage in the way
If it’s get damaged/bended specially the face of the reflector then it will be useless

In your absence on site, I think that safe and correct dismantling would have to be done by the seller rather than the transporter.
The transporter might have other collections or deliveries on their route and they would probably not want to get involved in the process of dismantling a 1.8m dual axis motorised setup.

The CM 1.8m dish is ribbed on the back so has some resistance to distortion unless ratchet strapped tightly.
If it is loosely secured with bungee cord to prevent movement and covered with blankets it should be OK. Transporters I have used often had blankets available.

If you are not prepared to travel to sort things out then you are reliant on the seller to get the goods ready for collection and to supervise safe loading into a van.

Shipley quotes £230 to £235
Plus £375
£600 ish for only 40 to 60 west available arc
Need to decide is it worth it
Very unlikely move to south facing garden
Buy it or leave it ?

Reading what others have said about north/south signal variation, 1.8m might be a bit small for the western C-band satellites up in Scotland.
Also thinking about ozumo advice that 1.8 might be bit small in Scotland

I think it is much easier to hire simple trailel. Many moons ago I moved 2x1,8m Prodelins at once. Easy like that.

Yes, or a friend who has a trailer or a van. Luckily I know a couple of friends who have large vans. Borrowed them and the van for a day to move my dishes..

Voted to leave it
I trust them as they know what’s up there on C band between 40 and 60 west
I wait for something near me
Thanks for everyone who had given their best advice

I got this one home without trouble, on a saloon without roof rack.

If you want to get a taste on C band, I would try a smaller 1.2m CM dish. I've had limited success on 40W, 55 and 58W on mine. Plenty more in the east to be hand on smaller dishes. 40E will likely work with 1.2m dish and I even had a glimpse of 3E on my old Penta 85cm dish.

Biggest problem is line of sight only clear from say 40 to 60/65 west
Anything east will be blocked by my own house
The further I can go back in the garden is about
38/40 feet
The house is standard 2 story with loft.
