Good afternoon
Just wondering I got 75 cm dish and find it very difficult to find arc
What’s will be the difference if I change the dish to 1 meter apart from getting the weak sats and tps
Is it easy find arc on 1 m rather on 75 cm
On tm 2600 it say recommended dish size 1.2 m
Just measured and I can squeeze in 1 m dish
OR
There is no difference in finding arc on 75 or 100cm
Thank you

A bigger dish makes it MORE difficult to find any particular satellite as the acceptance angle for the incoming signal is narrower. Being bigger & heavier they tend to be more difficult to set up successfully as well, and need firmly installed mounts.

If you arent sucessful with a 75cm you dont want to be upgrading yet..

However as you say you have had experience with a 3m dish in the past you already know this.......

In theory the larger the dish the harder it is to find the arc. The difference between 75cm & 1m won't be huge in terms of difficulty, but it won't be easier.

I'd make sure that pole is absolutely plumb and rock solid first before doing anything else.

Thank you very much
Analoguesat & ozumo for your kind advice
I used 3 m dish on c band no experience on ku band
That’s why I thought maybe it’s easier to find arc on 1 m dish
Yes it’s true that it’s difficult to handle bigger dish.
I stick to the 75 cm for now.

I was successful on finding arc Say 90% but I took it off to adjust limit
Just curious if it’s easy with big mirror

The general rule is that the larger the dish, the more difficult it is to adjust correctly. It's not impossible but requires time, patience and a lot of fine adjustments. Every time you make small incremental adjustments to a large dish, the resulting movement is amplified. Think of it as if you held a 1 metre long broom handle. A slight twist of your wrist will move the tip of the broom handle by a greater amount than your wrist moves.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
As I mentioned yesterday, there were big rainstorms to the East of the UK yesterday afternoon, and they severely reduced or "killed" all the signals from 52E for a hour or so - but everything is fine here in W.London now.

OTOH, I sometimes get some channels that are definitely on 53E when the weather is clear, but all the transponders (notably 12594/V/27000 were totally "dead" yesterday and are the same today - anyone else having similar issues??

Anything wrong yesterday

Yes, it was raining.

Official footprint below

which suggests there is a small difference in signal between north and south of UK, Midlothian appears to be on the border.

Perhaps your signal was low because the motor was never actually making it to 52e...

Limit has been increased now waiting for good weather to put it back on
Meanwhile I will paint the motor stub as I scratched it when the bolt of the stub was loose and I was struggling to align the dish
I am going to use this spray paint

Give the motor mount bracket a light rub down and a coat of that too, the bracket rusts easily.
