Additional info --
of the 2 transponders that have signal on both polarities there is a about 0.2 db difference of strength between the polarity on both frequencies ...

now it gets a bit weird
if i scan in using the stronger polarity reading on 12149 i get the 24 channels that i should get from that t.p. .. if i scan the weaker polarity on 12149 i get the 7 channels that should scan in from 12130

the same thing happens in reverse if i scan 12130 the stronger polarity brings in the 7 channels that should appear.... and the weaker polarity pulls in the 24 channels from 12149

12092 is normal and only has signal on one polarity and pulls in the 26 channels that it should do

make of this what you will ... i,v never had this happen in circular C band

Folks, when you are experimenting there with Ku-circular and you feel the need for usual LNBFs used to receive signals from 36*E, I could help to get those LNBFs and send them to you.... should not be so expensive.

Thank you RimaNTSS .... Maybe ...... do you think results would be any different ?
i,v used 2 different l.n.b,s and feeds with identical results 5.jpg

C.J. sent me one of these to try last year6.jpg 7.jpg 8.jpg
but it did not travel well and was dead on arrival so pulled the cap off to view inside .

I do not know, but ~10 EUR (including shipment) is not so much to prevent trying.

Thanks B.M. ... be interested to see what your setup makes of receiving these t.p. frequencies .. if you get time to try at some point :)

I had a quick look here a few weeks ago, I was getting one of the Russians transponders with no plate in, weather conditions was also poor at the time of checking , I will have a better look when I'm more organised.

@nelson_b When you do experiments on your 2.4m CM dish in Gregorian design (with sub-reflector) do not forget that Left becomes Right and vice-versa. But I am sure you know that.

HI -
Made up some "temporary" arms for the 2.4 c.m. to see how it performed in k/u without its subreflector and dedicated feed ... played around for a while using a normal channel master feed and C120 l.n.b.
results at Amos 4 west were decent - but about 1.0 db down from subreflector results on 11176 H 30000
swapped the l.n.b. for a standard Black ultra single and gained back most of the loss
8.0 to 8.1 db with sub .... 7.9 to 8.0 with black ultra ..... spurred on by this i ran a 2 MHz blind scan with the F15 at Amos 4 West and turned up 1 middle east beam transponder.
The idea to run the dish without a subreflector is that i might then be able to fit 2 C band l.n.b,s either side of the k/u as this arrangement has served me well on the 1.8 .. which would be replaced by the 2.4 setup if the results are good enough ....

No email address (to save you getting stung by Nigerians).

Do you have the domestic or professional version of the CM dish ?

Hi There

I did make temporary arms a few years ago for testing - from measurements that were given to me by a forum member on here. but he is now no longer a member .... i should still have those measurements on my p.c. somewhere - so will try to find them ... if you are wanting to make your own

There is a company in the u.k. called - Satellite Superstore - in the u.k. who sell them and the l.n.b. holder etc --- But they are pretty expensive to buy .... if you Google search that company name and look on their site you would find the arms etc under spare parts for 2.4 Raven dish.
Raven is the new name for all the old Channel master kit.

On this forum - member @RimaNTSS has made a very nice design of l.n.b. holder from stainless steel for channel master dishes that is dual purpose and can be used for k/u band or C band l.n.b,s ... my self and other members here have bought them from him ... they are very good. and i know he has made arms for his own dishes so may be able to give you help with the measurements etc ... if i cant find them here on my p.c. .... its been a while since i needed them - as i,m using the metalwork that came with my dish that supports the sub reflector arrangement again now and the side arms are a different length and design to the regular ones that you are most likely looking for .

It sounds from your post that you have just the large dish reflector and no metalwork or sub reflector.

regards ...
