End of an era... I remember trying to pull in 1D frequencies using a frequency extender... THOSE were the real fun times.

Astra 1D has NOT been deorbited yet!
After travelling West for a long time, since about a week it's stationary at 67.6° West.

I had one of those too. Astra 1B stations became 1D if I remember correctly.

Also had one of those switches made by the same company that allowed me to switch between Astra 19.2 and Eutelsat 13(pre Hotbird days). Had a Satellite rec/vcr combo. Used to record Landscape on TRT international on Wednesday mornings(1am to 4am). Ah those were the days.

Astra 1D was at 72.5°W from July 2017, then since December 2017 at 73.0°W.
Early November 2021 raised to graveyard orbit.
Launched November 1 in 1994, so this satellite reached an age of 27 years!

Now also Astra 1G was sent to graveyard altitude (36140 km).
Next "oldest Astra" would be 2A at 57.2°E (incl. 4.3°), launched August 1998.
