Getting a signal lock here but can't scan the TP because 'no name' channel scan is not implemented in the Coolstream Zee yet. Would need PIDs to check manually.

Wow this has certainly caused a stir in the ranks. I have spent time on astra 2d.com today, seeing what they have to say.As you are all aware ch4 HD was one of the first to sign up which will be on a spot beam. Of more interest to me was Satbeams predicted UK spot beam footprint, a little different to Ses Astra footprint. Take a look for yourselves.
Just to add more fuel to the fire.

Is this a steerable beam? What will they do with this beam once the satellite moves to 19.2 position?

Would be interesting to see what people in Stockholm are getting. I remember reading about a favourable side-lobe from 2D for that area.

Are you sure it's not polarity "crosstalk"? Zero signal here.

Fine tuning the skew should eliminate it then.

I also do not get anything on that frequency here. I can receive the Channel 4 test airing with perfectly fine signal though.

ok hope this won't spoil the party, but there is talk at the moment on digitalfernsehen.de that "sources" (I know, just rumours...) have said that this isn't the permanent final setup of the UK beam. And that there might be some fine tuning and nudging under way at SES, which might mean that eventually signal readings could drop again.

To be honest, personally I have been wondering why SES would supply half the continent and beyond with such a strong signal, if the UK spotbeam is really just meant for the British Isles.

just passing on what is being discussed elsewhere at the moment...

Guess why I asked that user about his sources ;) . Because as long as he only says so, I'd also call "rumors". But yes, so far the signal seems to strong it would be hardly believable that this is the "spotbeam".
