Wonder why this hasn't been turned off yet if Sky's EPG no longer points to it?? Sounds like Sky's clutching at straws to keep Encryption on it for as long as practically possible! Lets see if it finally disappears tomorrow.

Vincenzo try a manual search using this frequency 10773 H 22000 fec 5/6 . If you cant get this frequency the CH5 you are getting is definitely Astra 1N,

Hi, I've been scanning this frequency since months, also 10733, but NO SIGNAL at all, using different boxes/receivers. No problem with epg 105,140, can get ch5,ch4hd.

Ciao
Vincenzo

Bound to eventually I would have thought as the Beeb only "lent" part of one of their transponders so that C5 could join Freesat.

Not quite - they will still have widebeams so you should still get a lot of the pay channels. You can wave goodbye to the Freesat channels (BBC ITV C4 etc) though once 2D is switched off in 2012, and they are swapped over to the 1N uk beam. The much steeper eastwards drop off on the UK beam means no beam reception in Cyprus.

If I understood correctly the new 2E, 2F and 2G will have widebeams along with the spot beams and some Sky channels will still be on the widebeams, on the new satellites?

Nothing on that transponder.

Worth noting at this time, C5 HD is still on 12266H ...for now.

Yes it has been a freeze-frame since early am yesterday. 9.2mbs of still picture!

Also 20711's video is still missing and not come back yet.

The news that broke this week that all 2D TPs are to migrate to 1N on their existing frequencies is not from any confirmed source (although the concensus seems to be that it is likely correct). I was wondering if the guys who were monitoring the initial 1N tests (before they moved it to 28.2ºE) noticed any evidence that the 2D frequencies were receiving any sort of "special" testing. I know I should be able to tell from the reports posted at the time, but to be honest they were too technical for me to understand.

Here's what I am getting:

20700,
ITV1, 704 x 576, 16:9, 3.1Mbps

20711,
some ITV red button service (frozen), 720 x 576, 4:3, 192kbps

20715,
ITV1+1 (African quality), 544 x 576, 16:9, 1.5Mbps

20780,
freeze frame, 960 x 1080, 16:9, 8.9Mbps

ITV1 Central East seems to have completely disappeared from that transponder, although KoS are showing it as SID 20701, but I'm sure that is an error as no one in this thread has ever reported that SID.

No reason to suppose anything other than the status quo existed on 2D at the time of 1N testing. Anyway, I was too busy doing the checks on 1N.

Llew, I think he means:

When 1N was testing at 1.8E were there any special tests on the 10700-10950 part of the spectrum (on 1N, not on 2D).
