A bit excessiveA two T-Shirt job.
Forgotten your red cloth and sword? If you are wondering why the thermometer is cracked and scarred....
I live on a farm & late last year one of the bulls got loose, and ended up in our garden! The post the thermometer was screwed to was the only casualty of the incident - it even squeezed past my dish farm without any damage somehow. Fortunately the farm lads were very good and soon coralled the critter as I wasnt going anywhere near one and a half tons of prime beef! But the battered plastic is witness to a somewhat unusual evening.
Shot up to peak at 3C come lunchtime.
Indoors ?Its going to be another clear cold night - the thermometer was already down to -6C at 16.30
TG we don't live "North of Watford"One of my mates who lives a mile down the road just told me he saw -16.5C on his car thermometer about the time I was taking that pic, so its accurate to within a degree or so.
Get a "bit of insulation" whilst the government's current "Green Grant" scheme is still in place. I got quite a sum in 2015 for the exterior wall insulation on 2/3rd of this house (on top, I have to say, of all that I paid for myself over the years before that!)I'm using a candle or two to keep the bathroom a tad above zero.
The toothpaste remains slightly crunchy in the morning though
Global warming?I thought it was less cold this morning than yesterday. No thermometer but the ice on the pond in the chicken enclosure needed less effort to break through than previously. Must be a slight thaw as my brother has just told me that he's had a water leak in his house!
