Best image for 7020

Hi i got a DM7020 just running gbox with no fancy internal harddisks or flash drives plugged in.

I know i gotta learn about cccam soon and move over from gbox but is there any better images to use at the moment because im using Gemini Project 4.6 but this is quite a old image think its a year old.

Would I be better using the Phi images or some others ???

Also is it best to have the image on a usb flash disk then using the internal memory on the box???

I notice when im doing playback from windows shares the box can run very low on memory.

Set it up for multi boot and you can play with multiple images until you find one you like

personally i always go with the gemini images and have done for close to 6 years. i have run and still do run a multiboot setup on my DM7020 but i always just boot striate to a gemini image.

also since you made this post the gemini team have released v 4.70 give that a try see if it dies every thing you need. i have it running on mine with no problems at all.

Give the S.I.F Images a go mate. I've been more than happy with them for quite a few years now.

I can also recommend EDG Nemesis 4.4. Its getting on a bit now but its still one of the most reliable images i have found to date

You can also try some of the less well known images like PowerBoard Enigma Ver 3.0. Fantastic image which is very stable.

I used to use Gemini images on my 7020 until they pulled the dirty trick with the DM500 timebomb which killed loads of Clone DM500 boxes.

The Gemini Team are no longer trustworthy as far as i am concerned which is why i won't use their images, no matter how good they are.

I know what you are going to say, but your DM500 has Gemini on it. Its a recompiled version that has had the time bomb removed and just basically rubs it in the face of Team Gemini, although to be honest its nothing to write home about. The box works better with EDG on it
