Hi everyone,
I need your feedback about LNB for my motorized 1m20 CM.
i allready have an original C120 Channel Master feedhorn + INVERTO IDLP-SINF02-OOPRO-OPP
i think about an INVERTO IDLB-SINL40-ULTRA-OPP or a classic one like the INVERTO IDLP-SNL410-PREMU-OPN

The Ultra would be my choice ... I don,t think gains would be that much over what you already have .. they are not expensive though to buy and compare .. i found the Ultra had a slight edge on some (but not all) transponders.

The Black Ultra Twin IDLB-TWNL40-ULTRA-OPP has been the best LNB on my 1.2M CM. My Black Ultra Singles give a tiny bit more signal but for some reason are very picky about how tightly the F-connector is screwed on.

Both Ultras comfortably beat the INVERTO IDLP-SNL410-PREMU-OPN on a 1.2M CM - the neck isn't long enough.

I've only used the CM feed horn with SMW singles and have never had good results compared to the Black Ultra LNBs.

I'm not focused on Inverto, it's just that it seems to me that it's a "real" brand and not too expensive.

With Channel Master dishes the long 'neck' of the Black Ultras helps a lot, there aren't many other LNBs with that feature. I do wish they'd make an IBU with a 4G filter - if 4G is a problem for you a Black Ultra may not be the best choice.

Yes, it helps move LNB closer/further to the dish, but does not eliminate the basic issue - original feedarms and LNB-holder do not place LNB in the proper position, so the LNB's phase center will never be co-located with the antenna's focal point.

I have one of your LNB holders but I'm using it with a C-band LNB. I'll make a cardboard template from your dimensions and try it with a Ku LNB :)

54.9E 11265V 30000 will be my test transponder as here it is right on the edge of lock with 1.2M + original arms/holder & IBU single.

The best way to adjust the position of the LNB, IMHO, is to measure the leaning of the dish face by using digital protractor.

For my setups I've solved this issue by not only changing LNB-holder but also changing all the feedarms.

@italy2006 I am sorry, but you do not have 130 cm dish, most likely it is only 120 cm one :(. Secondly, it will give you very little, or even no gain if you use other LNB. If you can not get bigger dish you can try better adjusting existing LNB, making sure LNB is pointed to the proper point on the surface of the dish and LNB's phase center is co-located with the antenna's focal point.

A tuned narrow band feed and dedicated polarity system may assist, but really you need to put a larger dish up, or move house.

How did you measure it?

It is hard to say as you did not show any pictures of your antenna. But, if you wish to go "the feedhorn and flange LNB" way then you better make sure that the illumination angle of the feedhorn is matching the opening angle of the antenna.

Do you have an example of this feed ?
I mean at an acceptable price.
More than just a good LNB, for me push my CM dish to it best this is what we want in fact.

In the thread below post #25 shows the holder & post #26 has an image of the calculated correct dimensions for location of the LNB:
