@italy2006 Nice picture of your antenna. And how did you measure it 130 cm, from where to where?

It is hard to say as you did not show any pictures of your antenna. But, if you wish to go "the feedhorn and flange LNB" way then you better make sure that the illumination angle of the feedhorn is matching the opening angle of the anten
does this way increse signal even aliitle?1622536138075.png

It is hard to say. This is not standard feedhorn which only exists at your disposal. So, only you can give the answer whether such a feedhorn brings you positive reception results.

@italy2006 a 'sun shade' for your IBU could help. All my Inverto Black Ultras suffer in strong sunshine. Something like a short section of gutter pipe attached with zip-ties will help to stop the LNB cooking in the sun.

Why don't they use white plastic instead black as this would reflect a good part of the suns heat? They could call them 'White Ultra' which I think they used to do. Another option would be to spray the casing white.

I'm thinking that I may have the same problem with the Black Ultra on the Gibby because I'm getting enough signal to lock up most channels on 12594/V/27500 on 53E on the SX88 in the morning and evening ATM, but the levels are dropping off in the middle of the day when it's sunny & hot.

Might that be similar to the issues that you have without the "sun shields"?

Sounds like it. I first noticed when I had a fixed 90cm on 10E, I was getting better signal when it was lightly raining than in full sunshine. Then when I tried to tweak the skew for a feed on 24W I noticed I would get lock when my hand was holding the LNB to adjust it, but when I let go within 10 to 20 seconds the signal would disappear.

Thx - will be getting some white guttering from Screwfix later today!!

Edited - Make that Toolstation as the Heathrow branch has some in stock - whereas Screwfix isn't selling single lengths of the 114mm x3m squareline stuff from their local branch :-doh

Will have to cut some aluminium strip to make some brackets.

Here is an older photo. It's a section of white guttering, held on with re-useable zip-ties. Holes drilled in the side are to adjust position. Recently I trimmed the sides (where the drilled holes are) to allow the guttering to sit closer to the LNB - in the photo the gutter may be blocking a small amount of signal.

I have also previously used a cut up plastic bottle painted white but it went brittle in the sun.

Something mounted above the LNB, but with air/ventilation space between the two, and not intruding into the signal reflected by the dish - and preferably coloured/painted white to reflect the sunlight, whereas as a normal black-bodied LNB will tend to adsorb sunlight and so will heat up (causing the problems mentioned above).

Also sometimes referred to as rain covers as they can be used to prevent rain etc., collecting on the cover over the front of the LNB.

People have used various things like plastic bottles/yogurt cartons with holes cut in them - personally, I'm going to try to use a short section of uPVC rain water guttering, but I'll have to make up some metal brackets (from strips of aluminium) to attach the cover to the feedarm, just below the LNB, because the sunshield needs to be firmly attached or else it might be blown off by strong winds.

Edited: @ozumo added his photo whilst I was writing this post - and I'm aiming to make my cover look very similar to his.

I've never tried one. It looks to have the same body as the Black Ultra Twin, but not the same electronics - according to the image it has a 4G filter which the Black Ultra lacks. I've seen used ones on eBay where the white plastic has turned yellow in the sun.

I will try it on my fixe CM and anyway if it's not good i will put them on a sat dish for 13° and 19,2°
If i have some good result i will have the possibility to put them on my three CM.
