Lots of adult starlings and their fledglings worrying them for food here too. What a racket the young'uns make in the process.
Right up against the house - had to shut the windows for some peace :(

If you noticed the video of the pigeons attacking the little feeders, the feeders now have spikes on them. The feeders are Nescafe jar tops.

That looks like it could be a bat, I get a couple fly across one of my cameras in the back garden.

Cool if it is :)

I normaly switch my computers of a night.Last night I decided to leave Blue Iris running to see what is around at night. The answer is not a lot.A little spider spent a lot of time spinning a web in front of the Birdhut camera.
The camera on the patio also got something .No prizes for guessing what.:)

Spiders love the front of cameras, big overhand with plenty space to catch flies, but they never have a chance to on my cams as they end up swept off before they finish their webs... :D

It's usually more to do with the IR illumination that cameras have. Spiders can sense that radiation and like to cuddle up to it.

Whatever the reason that little spider has been triggering the camera all night again and most of the morning up to now.No problem with the other two cameras though. It could be because the Birdhut camera is attatched to a lot of woodwork.Probable loads of spiders there.(Pergola or is it a gazebo .:))

This Blackbird is called the Lid Shifter.I have a restaurant for little birds{The Cage.]
There is a hole in the top. Some birds get in through there. The other day it was banging it down I put a screw though a coffee jar lid to cover the hole. The birds noticed. This blackbird did something about it.:)

Not a expert, but is it, maybe, a chaffinch? Perhaps a young one that doesn't have full colouring

A lesser creasted streebling.

Rolf would be better identifying it though.

It has been quiet for a while. The birds disappeared for a couple of months while they grew a new set of feathers. All back now.Pigeons no problem now.Though I expect that the new crop next summer will need to be deterred from the bird hut.I still have a delinquent squirrel that has not got the message yet.I have started to dose the suet with pepper again that may be working at last.A new problem is Magpies some of them have got a taste for suet. They are as crafty as the squirrels.I have replaced the screws round the birdhut that has deterred them there. The feeders are a different matter I think that I may be winning though.A clip from a few days ago below.I have not seen the squirrel since then

There is some waste land over our wall .I have been surprised that we do not have rats. Now that I have cameras all over the place I spotted one a couple of weeks ago.I got some rat poison from wilco.Made a couple of traps that I hope will keep other animals out.A camera on one of them below.I have not seen one for a while. All that I have seen on this camera is the local prowling cat and blackbirds ferreting about amongst the leaves.

It seems that they are rampant in the locality - probably in/around an alleyway on the other side of the cul-de-sac next to us. After tomorrow, I will continue in my "campaign" to get the local council to sort this all out (got some foot-slogging to do :( )
