I was reading in wotsat that there is a Blind Scan plug in for the dreambox. I've looked on a few usual sites and can't find it at all. Checked the idiots guide and did a search here but nothing. Has anybody found this, installed this and does it work?

No, I haven't seen one yet. I think I saw something mentioned a long time ago, but...

If you do find something let us know.

By the way, the reason there might not be much in this direction could be due to the fact that the Dreambox has a pretty useless tuner, most of the low symbol rates cannot be received. Not much use for feed hunting.

Thanks for that TG. Sure I'll post any plug in details I find on here. Its looking to me that if you want to find feeds people are better off with something like a technomate?

I'm not personally that into feeds, but I like the idea of a blind scan so that I don't have to rely on other peoples settings and transponder lists.

:) .....found by the majority of people to be varied and generally erratic.

Mentioned here: http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/forum/printthread.php?t=41717

Got a couple of files, one for DaVinci image, which unzip then place the COMPLETE 'feeds101.tar.gz' file in 'var/tmp' and then with the blue button on the remote control.... 'addons/manual install'.

The other file, 'FeedHunter_101.zip', unzip then see the 'README.txt' for installation path etc.

click below to download the 2 files which are contained in a 'zip':

The attachment is here

Thanks to rolfw for assisting in the upload.

Yes that feature is down at the moment (due to abuse), but will return in the near future, you can send it to me: rolfw at satellites.co.uk and I will put it up on our server for you. :)

Hello,
Have been doing some tests on the Blind-scan feature.

Some recent Dreambox 800se images (Nemesis, NewEnigma2) have the option in them.

So far this only works on original boxes.

But read that work is going on for the clones to make this feature work on them.

But as mentioned already in these 2006 posts a blind scan feature on a crap tuner is no use to anyone anyhow
