Mine was bought new, - many years ago now ... as you can see its had very little use ... have plans for it later this year though.

Yours has a different stub on top ... otherwise identical i think

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

They are very good motors - quick and quiet. Unfortunately they arrived as DiSEqC was being unrolled and the earlier / better 36V positioners were discontinued, so they have become quite a curiosity.

Look out for the magnetic wheel losing its charge.

Something similar, if well weathered, going cheaply on eBay:

I have one of those in the garage. The stub is odd. At extremes (beyond 40 degrees in either direction) the dish hit the mounting assembly.

Entirely possible that I did something wrong.

I have a similar motor - it was sold as a "Jaeger SMR 128 H-H motor". There seem to be various designs for the stub pole at the top.

I can only tell you that my motor has performed well in the past five years (now dismantled) with a (heavy) 1 metre dish. There is some play in the bearings, but never had to adjust after the initial set up.

I would not trust my motor on a heavy 1.2 meter CM dish though. But my motor is now very old, and was used for a few years before the recent installation. The photos above show motors in far better condition that mine.

I have one of those and used it on a 1.2m CM master and it performed better than what I have now (polar mount/actuator) but I've had a few issues with the bearings.

what mounting bracket do you think is on the pic in my first post...is it a CM AZ mount, or a plate specific for that motor?

Pic is dark and taken from a hard to tell angle ... but i,m guessing someone made a plate to connect it to that motor ?

Definitely not a CM Az/El. When I was looking to bodge a CM 90cm onto a DiSEqC motor I thought about using the left half of one of these to provide the declination adjustment:
Code:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233497979429
Would need the large triangle tabs cutting off and then a flat plate or something to attach it to the rear of the dish - what was the elevation adjuster would now adjust declination. In the end I wasn't sure about how strong it'd be so didn't bother.

I now own the motor ....got it along with a CM 90cm and a Pace positioner box for 50 quid.

i now have options between this and actuator.

still unsure what motor it is - is has SUPERMOUNT on it, but the rest has worn away - i wonder if it can drive the 1.2CM or if its only for smaller motors

Supermount was used by Jeager, their highly regarded Jaeger 1224 motor was a Supermount model.

If the bolt holes on the adapter plate are spaced to accept your 1.2m CM dish then get the bitch bolted on, wire up the motor, power it up and test it out.
You got nowt to lose, whats the worse thing that can happen, strip a few cogs and end up with a wánk motor, it aint the end of the world.

Personally, I think it will be OK.

its up!

hey guys, spent all morning removing polar mount, and aligning and installing whatever this motor is onto the 1.2m - took forever to find 30w with a decent signal.

seems to be ok, and pretty solid, i guess time will tell - winds etc.

i didnt get on with the actuator - might have to flog it - or keep it as backup.

its been a learning curve though - the NON USALS experience.

the dish moves A LOT quicker than Diseqc motor - seems powerful. just hope it lasts

i will move the dish above garage at some point - shattered now tho.

will play some more later, only have a few positions stored.

Nice one, welcome to the world of the 36 volt men.
