Newbie Here can I transfer recordings from my old humax box to my new freesat recordable 4k tv box?

I'm not sure. I use a satellite dish to receive freesat/tv. I use a laptop and router.

u can probably transfer them from old STB to USB Stick \ HDD, and play them on your new STB- theres also a slim chance you might be able to download them to your new STB also

Last time I checked, the USB port on the 4K boxes is for software updates only.

The Mutant is not a Freesat box, but a generic receiver.

Freesat boxes have restrictions that cannot be overcome easily. Not being able to transfer recordings is one of them.

FYI, Freesat is a closed EPG system, on a restricted selection of approved receivers, available in the UK and, at it's simplest, provides high-level features (ie simplicity of use) for non-subscription viewers similar to what eg Sky does for the rich. FTA Channels only, though, of course.
