Hi all,
I just started to restore a 1.2m Channel Master. Certainly installed by a "professional". it is an equatorial mount which was used for a fix installation. the fixing spacers are missing and nothing really prevented that in high winds the antenna turns ... cleaning, sanding, primer and white paint.

Certainly unlikely to move in high winds.

there is nothing to block it from left to right here. I will modify it very quickly.

Cut/slice off, drill out the seized screw thread and then put a bolt through it with a nut on the end - if that's possible??

The screw goes into a brass nut embedded in the plastic,in the past i have turned the screw until the nut becomes free from the plastic. the nut can be removed and then glued back into the plastic. i bit butcherous :-ohmy i know but has worked for me.

A hot-melt glue gun would probably be a good way of securing the nut.

That is how I've repaired the holder. Removed remains of the original inserts and glued (epoxy rezin) in M5 INOX bolts.

Nice! but isn't the diameter of the polar mount wider than this arm? Also, isn't a 120cm CM dish too heavy for one of these arms?

I have one of these and I feel weird mounting it in one of these arms, I feel it would bring the wall down.

I find the dish on this arm.
It's a very long one for a close 90° installation.
Iwill use chimical to fix it on my wall.

I did it like you on my other CM but impossible to reuse the brass nut.
in the end, I bought a new one on Satellite Superstore because i'm in love with this dish
For this new antenna, i will see.

Yes this one.
I have not yet tested it on my first CM. I plan to install it this summer.

I was planning to use the complete Channel Master set for the LNB but the LNBs have changed ...
IMG_5867.JPG

So i will not use the cover kit at this time.

Today i have a question about Dielectric plate inside the feedhorn, somebody can tell me if i have to keep it when i use this kind of LNB ?
In fact when we need to use it or not ?

IMG_5865.JPG

Another problem, I only have one C120 adapter for two Channel Master antenna.

1.jpg

So i just send this plan to a friend to print it in 3D.

The dielectric will not be of use at Ku frequencies these days, so you can pull it out of the feed.

Keep it only in case if you're going to move to Eastern Europe where many Russian channels are available from 36*E. :D
