If you have the original cover you may try to build a thermoforming machine.
Just need plywood, coke bottle and a vacuum.
It will be not perfect but it can do the job.

I seem to recall someone making one out of metal, sometime ago, as the Jaeger1224 were known to easily become broken, especially at certain points.
Try an internet search, as I think they also provided full instructions, and a guide.

If you can't find that, as it might have gone, check out an old Wheeler Dealers episode, where Edd China had to build a new air conditioning box, for a car, he was working on, out of metal, instead of plastic, as the method should be similar. Don't forget to sound deaden, any construction, you make, to quieten it down.

Edited to add more information.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

A carton for frozen ice cream (3 or 4l) is approximately the same dimensions. Cut to approximate shape including the opening for the top mount and then pour thermosetting resin over the top.

If you have the original then I would glue together, seal off the lower edge and screw holes, then build up the interior with fibreglass resin.

Yes, neater than putting it on the exterior.
