I've long had a "lingering hankering" to add a decent DAB+ tuner to the lounge AV system (there's a DAB+ band aerial already in the attic, and it works with the microsystem unit in the conservatory - so I know it works) - but don't want a cheap radio with that only has an AUX o/p. nor do I want to pay a silly price for "something suitable".

Thus, when I came across this ONKYO T4030 at £60 (+???) on ebay then it "got my interest" - so has anyone had any experience with that Rx., or can anyone point to something "as good or better" at "around" the same price?

I bought this radio, for my mother, as part of a system, I set up, last Christmas, and it cost a lot more than £60, but worked well, with an aerial I bought. Unfortunately she's hardly used it, due to having a carpet changed, and a lot of problems, again due to Covid-19, which means it took 2 months to get the carpet fitted, then a further 9 months to get it replaced, due to a fault. It's supposed to be replaced this weekend, so hopefully I will finally get her audio system running in a few weeks, as the aerial still need to be fitted outside, I tested it inside the house, and got most stations.
I was going to get one for myself, and add it to my system, but the pandemic stopped that idea.

THX, but I'm uncertain if you are referring to the ONKYO which I mentioned above - so, please could you clarify?

Yes, same make, and model, I kept the links, in my favourites, along with a 6 CD changer, also the same brand:

I bought a portable DAB+ radio, which suits me, for now,
I mainly listened to Capital Xtra, but now they have included annoying DJ's, whereas before it was all music, and they are editing the music. I now download the songs I like, burn them to CD, and play them in my car, or on the CD paler on my stereo, which still has the AM/FM JVC tuner, just no access to the digital stations.

At first I thought they hadn't included the remote, but it's in a separate picture.
The problem is this damned pandemic, you just can't get some items, that were readily, and cheaply, available, prior to various lockdowns.

"Whatever might be there":p
PS: isn't that very like "sat searching"!:-rofl2
DAB dxing, much like sat searching, requires some serious equipment outside. Very few receivers on the market have the necessary front end to cope with the co-channel issues arising from the frequencies and the way they are allocated.

Tropospheric changes are often the times when long distance reception is possible, not because of the choice of receiver.

@Channel Hopper

Not interested in "DAB dxing" - just in what's "out there" in the Southern UK at "not a lot of cost" - thus no "SDR and so on" "ambitions":)

Well a DAB+ radio on a standard aerial will get you around 70 stations, many of which are available on FM and on the back of the Freeview transmitters, the remainder picked up with a Freesat receiver or via streaming systems

DAB is simply a convenience product for those that haven't got separates, or wish to update their vehicle dashboard with something more modern than their am/FM radioI wouldn't waste funds on it myself.

Just want something "straightforward" for the lounge AV system - thus not "chopping and changing" between signal sources.

As your signature says ("a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness""), I don't/won't need either because I'm just in "curious" mode on this "issue" :D

That black ONKYO finally went for £158 inc P&P! - I never did bid and completely dropped that idea when the price hit £100 and was still rising rapidly!

It only cost £199 new, with free postage.
It's just that because of this pandemic, some things are hard to come by, and audio equipment is not a necessity.
