It is pointing far too high upwards.

The dish face should be nigh on vertical.

Required Elevation is in the mid 20 degrees, but the LNB arm is offset by more or less the same amount.

Pics 2 and 3 have got parallax error, but Pic 1 does not, I think, deceive.

Interesting, thanks. I'll double check the vertical tilt tomorrow.

All pics were taken together so the dish definitely hasn't moved between the pictures.

Lol, yes I know. It's just the perspective differs between shots, so the latter two are harder to draw firm conclusions from!

Apologies, want me to take some more?
Also, I've just checked that site, and it appears where the dish SHOULD be facing, there's a house in the way. Maybe that's why it was tilted when sky fit the dish? Or should it not really matter if I straighten it out?

Well, I'd wait for a second opinion here. Although it seems to me Pic 1 shows it pointing high, if you haven't touched it at all, and have only moved the horizontal direction, I could be misspeaking.

It's almost certain that the dish will clear the house for the reason stated earlier.

ie Even with the face vertical, it's actually looking 25 or so degrees upwards.

No problem. I can't do anything until my lunch break tomorrow anyway, luckily I'm working from home!
Do you think that house will make a huge difference? It is across the road and some.

Sorry, you were lightning fast replying!

See the previous Post again, as I added a bit.

Basic answer? No issue with the house.

My bad, it's keeping me distracted from the overtime! Thanks for your help. I'll take another peek tomorrow.

Smiffy your meter wont "howl" and show needle (I'm presuming it's the needle type) movement until you hit the sat (Or any other sat) your after. If it shows powered up then that's good in the way you know the meters not a dud in that way. I would follow the other posters advice about checking the meter works at a family or friends house with a working Freesat/$ky setup, just to be on the safe side there and you'll get to see how the meter reacts when actual signal flows into it when it's aligned on a sat.

That F-connector also does not look right, it should be perpendicular to the base of the LNB/shroud. Really iffy cabling on the wall (especially the white, as though a monkey was hanging off it)

Only three bolts in the mounting bracket, so Sky could be partly to blame for the issues you have

I'm only a five mile drive from Ewell if it helps, you need it sorted.

Good spot Channel Hopper, on Tapatalk app the third pic is just a broke silhouette, I went to full site and expanded the third pic, that's definitely not right!!

Good one.

Sounds like a sensible way ahead.

I'd really appreciate it if you could give me a hand. I'll double check the cabling though first.

Thanks,

We have liftoff, gentlemen. I've had another fiddle and finally managed to get a connection. My sat box has found 178 TV channels, and all appear good quality.

It turned out Lazarus was right, the tilt on the dish was wrong, so I had a play about and finally reached the sweet spot! Time to return my sat finder. Thank you again, everyone!

Aah! I can't find my Trumpet, but the key was your pics. Always a good idea to provide some.

Well done. Better to be able to DiY, but Channel Hopper would have done you proud.

I have absolutely no doubt he would, and should we have any more issues, he will be my first point of contact!
