I was charged £180 for my last set up which was a 85cm technomate dish, 3 quads and 2 diqsec switches and I had cable already. That was back in 2010. I also had dificulty in finding an installer that would do a non sky job.

There's plenty of them in UK now. I can give you some contact details in Manchester if you still need one.

Hi all,

I've started buying stuff necessary for satellite installation to receive astra 13.2E, 28.2 and HB13 on 1 dish, but I was just told by one of the installers that Triax TD110 may not be the best satellite dish for this installation as the signal quality may be rubbish for 2 out of 3 satellites. This is something to do with the reflection of this dish or something.

Could someone please confirm that? If this is the case, could you please recommend other ~1m dish(es)?

(Initially, I wanted to get TD88 but I think it's better to get a bigger one, just in case)

Thanks

That should be absolutely fine, albeit probably overkill. The TD88 should cope fine, and will be far less prominent.

Point the dish to 19.2E and use a decent multi-bracket to place LNBs for 28E and 13E suitably offset.

The trick with the TD110 is not to get angry with the elevation slide, which can be a bu**ger to get right.

I'm using a Triax TD88 for 23.5E, 28E, 39E and 42E and haven't a problem with reception. A TD110 should be more than adequate for you, though you will get annoyed with the elevation adjustment..

Thanks guys.
Is this what you mean by elevation on Triax TD110?

The reason I need to get a dish >1m is because the installer who's going to do the job told me TD88 may not be good enough for those 3 LNB and he won't take responsibility if it wouldnt work. He also won't give me a warranty for this instalation. So I thought I'll take something bigger as a peace of mind.

What do you think about Gibertini OP 100 L?

https://www.ewerk-onlineshop.de/sat-technik/antennen-spiegel/90-100-cm-spiegel/gibertini-op-100-l-alu-antenne-antrazith/a-22684/

or Technomate 1M?

Would they be any better than TD110?

Can I mount this with such dishes?

Thanks

P.S.
Thanks daro but I cannot affors such an expensive dish. The whole installation will cost a lot of money anyway :)

In which case, may I suggest you do it yourself: Plenty of help available here :)

That way, not only will you be more educated, but you'll get better results, the ability to maintain the system and the know-how to reconfigure it and/or do summat else entirely when the fancy takes you.

And you'll save money.

What's not to like?!

PS: Yes, that pic illustrates the elevation slider well. Just a shame it also shows the dish incorrectly mounted on the pole as the top clamp is slack, causing the dish to droop and giving scope for unwanted movement.

I would love to do that on my own, and I think I may be ok with one single LNB, but 3 may be too much for me. I dont have enough patient :) and tools to do that... If you're not too far from Manchester, I'll invite you to help me setting it up (with the payment of course) :)

Anyway, thanks for all your help in the subject!

If it were a straight choice between a TD88 and a Gibertini 1M, I'd choose a Gibi every time. I have a 1M Gibi set up for 7W, 11W and 12.5W, though I'd recommend using their own make of multi LNB holder. Honestly, even though you think you can't set up three LNB's, I'm sure with our support you could and the sense of acheivement when you do is immense.

You don't need a 1m+ dish for 28.2, 19.2 and 13. At least not in England. The dish I linked to in my last post will do the job perfectly.

Indeed. A TD88, as mentioned earlier, would be fine.

Thanks all! I'm gonna stick with TD88 or get Gibertini OP 100 L as the price would be very similar. I still have a few days to decide :)

Either will serve you well, both now and if you go Motorised at some point.

Even though (from prices I've just Googled) the Gibi is £50 more, you'll find it's much better engineered. One word of caution, if you go for the TD88 I'd look at alternate multi LNB brackets. I used a Triax manufactured one on my TD88 and was a bit frustrated by it's design and lack of flexibility. It may well do what you want it to but do research other brackets...
