This clone 500 seems to be as bad as my 800 original when it comes to diseqcs controlling.

It tried the setup in my apartment with the antenna on the balkony, where it worked nice. But now I'm trying to set it all upp in my summerhouse.
The cable to the antenna is about 60 m (and no, i cant move the dish).
On the dish I have 3 LNB's, connectec thru a 4way diseqc switch.

No mater what I do I only get the satellite that is connected on port 1 on the diseqc. It doesnt switch at all. If connected directly to the LNB then I get a good signal. When I switch the receiver to an old Echostar everything works great..
I've been messing around with a lot of settings in the DM but for this setup nothing seems to help.

Toneburst A / B, comitted diseqcs command, increased voltage...

Do anyone have some settings to recommend?
On my 800s setup (with the same diseqc) I use these settings:

hotbird 13 Ö Sirius 4.8 Ö Thor 1 W
LNB 1 2 3
Prioritet auto auto auto
LOF Universal LNB Universal LNB Universal LNB
Späningsläge Polarisation Polarisation Polarisation
ökad spänning nej nej nej
Tonläge Band Band Band
Diseq läge 1.0 1.0 1.0
Toneburst A A A
Comitted d com. AB AA BA
Snabb DiSeq nej nej nej
repetera sek ja ja ja
kommando ord comitted, toneburst comitted, toneburst comitted, toneburst
ton amplitud 340 mV 340 mV 340 mV
600 600 600

In the diseqcs manual it says that the diseqc is controlled by Diseqc 2.0 and 22 Khz. What does that mean? In the dreambox I have only version 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 (motor).

If I cant get this setup to work, is there and diseqcs switch out there that wil do the job with dm 500 and 60 m of (good quality) cable?

Firstly have you actually tried the DISEqC switch with another receiver?

If its a cheap DISEqC switch, the chances are that it won't ever work correctly. By past experience cheapo DISEqC switch are nothing but trouble.

The other problem may be the length of cable. 60m of cable is quite a run. If your cable isn't of the best quality you could have power drop off that will not allow the DISEqC switch to operate correctly.

Just use DISEqC 1.1 using settings AA, AB, BA.

Switch toneburst off, you don't need it.

Yes, as I wrote in the first post, I have an old echostar standing right beside the dreambox. When connecting the echostar it switched perfectly without any problems at all. Also Im using a high quality antenna cable that I know for sure is good.
I had another cheaper diseqcs earlier, but as I know that the dreambox switching abilities are quit bad I got a better diseqcs, exactly the same as I use with an dm 800s back at home. It's called "EMP-CENTAURI" and made in Czech Republic (no chinese crap :)

What command is usually used to switch between the inputs?
My other setup works like this, which I dont find logical but works great:
LNB Command
1 A/B
2 A/A
3 B/A
4 B/B
I think it should be:
1 A/A
2 A/B
4 B/A
4 B/B

Now I have changed back to the old Diseqc.

LNB 1 --> 2, OK
LNB 1 --> 3, OK
LNB 2--> 1, OK
LNB 2--> 3, NO SWITCH
LNB 3--> 1, OK
LNB3--> 2, OK

Ive got a long cable run too and I get similar problems from time to time with my 7020. If I get no signal on a satellite after a change the only solution Ive ever found is to flick quickly onto the manual tune setting for half a second or so, then back out using the exit button. Works every time.

Hi all,

A friend of mine and myself have the same problem. The below is the setup:

DreamBox 528 from DX
EMP Centauri P.164-TW DiseqC switch (4x1)

With such a setup only the LNB connected to Port 1 (AA) of the diseqc works. All the LNBs connected to the other ports of the disecq do not work. We have tried various settings on the DM528 including making a custom diseqc setup, changing images (OpenPLI, Gemini etc) and using a different P.164-TW DiseqC switch but to no avail. However, just as reported by yourselves, when using this setup with another sat receiver (VU+ UNO in our case) everything works properly. Furthermore, I just tested today that when using a generic (and cheap) diseqc switch with the DM528, the diseqc commands are recognised by the switch and thus the other LNBs can be setup (although scanning for channels still does not work on the LNBs connected to ports other than 1!) ..this leads me to believe that the problem lies with diseqc commands incompatibility specifically between the DM528 and the EMP centauri switch. So in my opinion the only solution would be to use a different receiver than the DM528!

I would be interested however to know whether you ever found a solution to this problem or if not, how you worked around the problem.

Thanks a lot!

Have you tried changing the lnb's or the switch?

Some receivers just dont like particular lnb's - (Ive had no end of problems with MTI Blue Lines down the years with my old Echostar & the 7020)

However there are known to be multiple issues with some clone dreamboxes. Some of them are cheaply & shoddily made with poor quality components.

To check the correct working of a switch , I connect it directly to the receiver with a satfinder at port 2 (or 3 or 4)
No need to connect the cable to the dish .
Adjust the sensitifity of the satfinder a high as possible .
By choosing the satellite with the correct diseqc setting , the satfinder will react .
For this test I made a special test-led , a led with a 2k2 ohm resistor in a F port cover .
The led will lit up when the port is connected , this test-led can also be used to check if there is any 14/18 V on the LNB IN connector .

If its working fine directly at your receiver , you can repeat the test with the switch at the end of the coax cable nearby the dish .
